(Minghui.org) Local practitioners met and shared experiences during the Chinese New Year holidays and the topics included family tribulations. Some even had family troubles for a long time that severely hindered their efforts to clarify the truth about Dafa to people.
There were also practitioners who studied the Fa daily, did the three-things well, and many people quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) when they listened to the truth about Dafa. However, these practitioners experienced illness karma often.
We also talked about practitioners who had passed away in our and other areas.
Many practitioners said that they could no longer enlighten to Fa truths, despite studying the Fa. However, I believe the enlightenment comes from trust. If one can't enlighten from the Fa, one should ask oneself, “Do I still trust Dafa?”
No one would admit that they did not trust the Fa, or maybe no longer trust the Fa 100 percent. However, one's behavior tells a different story.
Master said,
“Your own enlightening is only about your continuing to cultivate after you overcome difficulties in your practice. That’s what we mean by 'your own enlightening'. As for truly enlightening to something from the principles, if this Fa doesn’t let you know it, you can’t enlighten to it no matter how you try. So you have to meet one condition: You must genuinely practice cultivation.” (Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Europe)
“You don’t need to work on those low-level things. We’ll push you past that and help your body reach an illness-free state.” (Zhuan Falun)
Some practitioners always thought of illness when they were uncomfortable here or there, and did not remember Master's Fa.
Master said,
“Then if every student is able to do that, I can tell you, with five minutes of sending forth righteous thoughts together, the evil in the Three Realms will never exist again...” (“Fa Lecture at the Conference in Florida, U.S.A.” from Teaching the Fa at the Conference II)
It could also mean that we doubt our strength when we send forth righteous thoughts and thus the evil is still persecuting us.
If we can't fully trust Master, the Fa will not enlighten us. Buddha Milarepa never questioned his master's order while cultivating. He always believed that his master arranged the best for him. If we can be the same as Buddha Milarepa, we certainly can enlighten to new meanings of the Fa.
Besides, looking inward determines if we can pass a tribulation and enlighten to a higher cultivation level.
Master said,
“Whenever you encounter problems you should each look inward to search for the cause within, regardless of whether you’re to blame or not. Remember my words: Regardless of whether the problem is your fault or not, you should look inside yourself, and you will find a problem. If the matter has absolutely nothing to do with you or doesn’t involve any of the attachments you should break, then that thing would rarely happen to you. If you didn’t have an attachment the problem wouldn’t have come about. I have to be responsible for your cultivation. Any problem that happens to you, around you, or among you is most likely related to you, and there is something for you to get rid of. No matter whether it’s your fault or not, when my Law Bodies are having you remove your attachment, they don’t care whether it’s your fault or another person’s. As long as you have an attachment, they will try everything to have you run into problems and have you recognize the attachment that makes you fall short. Yet you’re still looking around, “This isn’t my fault,” or you’re still thinking, “I’m protecting the Fa.” Meanwhile, the other person is thinking, “I’m protecting the Fa.” In fact, the conflict occurs because you probably each have faults of your own.” (Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Europe)
“If you can examine yourselves with every thing you come across, then I’d say you are really remarkable, and nothing can block you on your path to Consummation. Yet when we run into problems, we often look outwards—“Why are you treating me like that?”—and feel that we’ve been treated unfairly, instead of examining ourselves. That’s the greatest and most fatal obstacle for all living beings. In the past, some people said that it was impossible to succeed in cultivation. How could one succeed in cultivation? [They couldn’t succeed] because that was the biggest obstacle, and nobody was willing to find faults in himself amidst problems. When a person feels hurt, or when he encounters misfortune, it’s really difficult for him to still examine himself and see if he’s done something wrong. If a person can do that, then I’d say that on this path, on this path of cultivation, and for the eternity of his existence, nothing can stop him. It’s truly the case.” (Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Singapore)
Master had repeatedly told us to unconditionally look inward. However, we often look inward thinking that we are not part of the problem. If we believe we are the person who is right in a problem, we often want to explain, persuade and emphasize that our opinion is the correct one.
Master wants us to improve our levels but we want to prove that we are correct. The correct attitude is to look inward even when we are wronged.
If we can do that, it will be like Master said,
“... on this path of cultivation, and for the eternity of his existence, nothing can stop him.” (Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Singapore)
