1. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chai Guiyan Given a One-Year Prison Term

Ms. Chai Guiyan from the Binhai New Area was given a one-year prison term. She was released on bail on September 2, 2017 and was brought back to the Jinzhou City Women's Detention Center on December 1, 2017.

2. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Shiyao Arrested

Ms. Zhang Shiyao from the Tianfu New Area, Huayang Town, was arrested and taken to the Shiyou Police Station on the morning of January 16, 2018. She was held in custody for 11 hours. She returned home by 8 p.m. that night.

Ms. Chen Yiren was recently given a seven-year prison term by the Jiangbei District Court.

Ms. Li Yurong was arrested and her home was ransacked on the morning of January 16, 2018.

5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Chunru Detained

Ms. Zhang Chunru from Yushu City was arrested at home by officers from the Peiying Police Station on the morning of January 16, 2018. She was detained for five days.

6. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Kong Fanzhi and Mr. Zhang Jinshan Arrested

Ms. Kong Fanzhi and Mr. Zhang Jinshan from Botou City were arrested by officers from the Liubali Police Station, Nanpi County, at noon on January 17, 2018 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Both have since returned home.

7. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Shao Chengluo Taken to Prison

Mr. Shao Chengluo was taken to the Shandong Provincial Prison on January 11, 2018.

8. [Beijing] Ms. Tang Guilin's Verdict Upheld

Ms. Tang Guilin was given a two-year prison term and fined 4,000 yuan by the Chaoyang District Court on November 24, 2017. She appealed to the Beijing No. 3 Intermediate Court. The intermediate court secretly upheld the verdict on January 16, 2018.

9. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Luo Yuanchao Detained

Mr. Luo Yuanchao, 67, was arrested by officers from the Dadukou Police Station on the afternoon of January 6, 2018 for posting “Falun Dafa Is Great” stickers at the Huashan Elementary School bus station. He was taken to the Mianshawan Detention Center, Renhe District for five days of detention.

10. [Heihe City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Ma Yutao and Other Practitioners Officially Arrested

Mr. Ma Yutao and other practitioners were officially arrested and detained.

11. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xu Zhuo Given a Three-and-a-Half-Year Prison Term

Ms. Xu Zhuo from Raohe County was arrested on August 16, 2017. She was taken to the Shuangyashan City Detention Center and was tried at the Shuangyashan Court on September 19, 2017. She was given a three-and-a-half-year prison term.

Ms. Xu's appeal was rejected on January 16, 2018 and the original verdict was upheld. She was taken to the Harbin Women's Prison on January 17.

12. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Jianrong Arrested

Mr. Liu Jianrong from Shenzhou City and another practitioner were arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division on the morning of January 1, 2018 for distributing Falun Gong informational materials at a farmers market.
