(Minghui.org) I talked several times with a friend who was not a practitioner about quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. Each time, he turned me down and changed the subject. I got the impression that he was afraid of talking about this subject.
I later learned, however, that he had indeed quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. I was very pleased to hear this and asked him what led up to his decision. He was quite reluctant to reveal any details and told me that withdrawal from the organizations wouldn’t “really help him.”
Sometime later, through further chatting, I learned that he didn’t actually know what it meant to withdraw from the Party, nor was he aware of what Falun Gong is. He actually still believed the CCP's lies and did not feel comfortable with Falun Gong.
Though I didn't know why he withdrew, from what he said, I basically understood the situation. Perhaps he was having a stressful day when a practitioner talked to him about withdrawing from the Party. He had likely agreed to resign but didn’t understand the basic facts about Falun Gong. Of course, it was also possible that at that time, the practitioner did not have sufficient time to adequately clarify the truth to this person.
From his response, it was hard to say whether he had been saved, as he seemed to still accept the lies spread by the CCP. My friend resisted hearing any further information related to Falun Gong.
Importance of Sharing the Basic Facts of Falun Gong
My thinking was that since the goal of clarifying the truth about Falun Gong is to save people, we should be clear about what we say to them. Even if pressed for time, we should try our best to convey the basic facts. It would not take much time to mention the self-immolation hoax and introduce the Falun Gong principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
If at first people do not understand, the process of chatting with them is a process of eliminating the evil elements behind that person. Righteous thoughts should be sent forth at the same time.
Of course, there may be some who just do not understand, no matter what is said to them. In that case, we should be sure to clarify the facts with a pure, kind heart and at least make them aware that we don't agree with the CCP's lies.
Another situation that may occur during truth clarification is when practitioners focus only on distributing handouts without talking to people. The purpose of distributing information is to help others understand the truth and be saved. If there is any chance to speak to the person, why not let them know the basic facts and then guide them to read the informational materials?
On one occasion, I came across a young man. As the time was short, I directly asked if he had heard of “quitting the CCP and its affiliations for a peaceful future.” He said that he had heard of this from a phone call, but he hadn't quit. He said he didn't know exactly what it was about. I briefly told him about why practitioners try to persuade people to quit the Party. I introduced the topic of Falun Gong, and the young man did not object.
Of course, I could see that he was a bit skeptical and afraid, but I wasn't put off by this. We chatted amiably about the topic. In the end, he not only understood the facts about Falun Gong but also expressed the desire to persuade his family to quit the Pary. I was very pleased to hear this. Before we said our goodbyes, I offered him a few copies of our magazine and advised him to read them carefully. I also suggested that his family read them and make their choices after understanding the facts. He was very happy and thanked me again and again. I was quite moved.
In the past, I picked up truth-clarification materials discarded by people. Some were dirty and damaged, which made me very sad. My thought was that the purpose of making these informational materials was to save people, but if people merely discarded them, it would be better to clarify the truth before giving them out. Otherwise, we would not only fail to save people but also provide opportunities for them to incur karma, which would eventually harm them.
Another type of truth clarification is through the use of WeChat and other social media platforms. I am not referring to WeChat projects or other truth-clarification projects via cyberspace. I am talking about challenging the current state of society and moral issues by using the social media platform as an ordinary person might. I called it “clarifying the truth subtly.” Clarifying the truth subtly to some people is not effective, as they may laugh and think that one's words are foolish and that what one is talking about is so out of date.
One cannot simply talk straight on social media but must talk evasively and dubiously, which makes people feel that one is being deliberately mystifying. Also, frequent use of social media by practitioners can easily evoke attachments. The result is that truth- clarification efforts have not been effective. Practitioners may also become bogged down in ordinary people’s affairs. There are many such examples.
So, to truly clarify the truth to people, I believe we should just directly and confidently tell people the facts about Falun Gong. Master prepares the way for us and just waits for us to talk to people.
Regardless of which option we choose to clarify the truth, we should adopt a serious attitude and take solid action. We shouldn't focus solely on how many people we contact, nor should we adopt the attitude of finishing a task. As long as we tell people what Falun Gong is with a pure mind, persuading them to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations will not be difficult.
The above is my understanding about clarifying the truth to people. Please point out anything inadequate.
