(Minghui.org) Jiang Zemin launched the campaign to frame and defame Falun Gong in July 1999. Officers from the neighborhood committees received orders to go to local Falun Gong practitioners' homes and order them to give up practicing Falun Gong.

One of my friends was an officer in the Chongwen District in Beijing. She went to a young practitioner's home to tell her to stop practicing Falun Gong. My friend told me that the practitioner, a young woman surnamed Rao, was a compassionate and well-educated person. My friend asked her to give up her belief in Falun Gong. In response, Ms. Rao told her that the Constitution guarantees freedom of belief and that Falun Gong was not what the media claimed.

My friend then accused Falun Gong of getting involved in politics.

“The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) defamed Falun Gong,” Ms. Rao said. “That was even worse than killing. Many individuals recovered from incurable and life-threatening illnesses after taking up the practice. How could those people survive if they were not allowed to cultivate? Don't you think [forcing someone to give up Falun Gong] is more brutal than killing? Falun Gong teaches people to be truthful.”

My friend simply could not ask Ms. Rao to give up her belief. She told me that Falun Gong practitioners were good people. The Yangtze river flooded in 1998. This practitioner donated the most in her community toward mitigation efforts. As a result, the policemen and officers in her area chose not to persecute Falun Gong practitioners.

Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong said,

“It is a xinxing issue if you do not help stop a murder or arson when you see it. How will you otherwise demonstrate that you are a good person? If you do not help stop a murder or arson, what would you get involved with?” (Zhuan Falun)

I suddenly understood that telling people the truth about Falun Gong stops the CCP from destroying them.
