(Minghui.org) Sources have confirmed that four Falun Gong practitioners in Maoming City were taken by police in recent days—Mr. Zhu Shixiong, Mr. Liang Shu, Ms. Zhou Qixue, and Mr. Wu Youqing. Another practitioner, Ms. Wang Yin, was forced to leave home to avoid arrest.
Mr. Zhu Shixiong, 52, owns a home appliance repair shop. On the morning of September 20, over a dozen police officers from the local 610 Office, police department and station arrived in force at Mr. Zhu's repair shop and took him into custody. They searched his home and confiscated a case of Zhuan Falun and other Falun Dafa books.
Mr. Zhu started practicing Falun Gong in 1998. He was arrested in 2005 for posting information about the persecution of Falun Gong in public. He was sentenced to three years at Yangjiang Prison.
In 2015, Mr. Zhu filed a criminal complaint against former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin for launching the brutal persecution of Falun Gong. A few months later, police and neighborhood committee members repeatedly visited him asking him to agree not to sue Jiang. When Mr. Zhu refused, several police officers went to his wife's workplace and asked her to sign the agreement for him or she would lose her job.
Mr. Zhu's cell phone has been monitored. Police had often visited him on so-called “sensitive dates” in the past two years.
Mr. Wu Youqing was stopped by police next to Gaozhou City People's Hospital on the afternoon of September 20. He called his family and informed them that police wanted to search his motorcycle. The police later searched his home. He was sent to the Gaozhou City Detention Center and given 10 days of administrative detention. His family visited him on September 22.
Mr. Liang Shu, around 60, was arrested on September 19. He is currently being held at a detention center. His family plans to hire a lawyer for him.
Ms. Zhou Qixue was arrested on September 20, details unknown.
Ms. Wang Yin is a Falun Gong practitioner from Guangzhou City, but she lives in Maoming to care for her grandchild. On September 21, three police officers visited the workplace of Ms. Wang's son. They also happened to meet Ms. Wang's husband there. When asked why they were looking for Ms. Wang, an officer answered, “We are here because the police in Guangzhou are looking for Wang Yin and asked for our help.”
Ms. Wang's husband told the police that she was not there. She has since left home to avoid arrest.
