(Minghui.org) Mr. Wan Yunlong, a Falun Gong practitioner from the Shuangcheng District, Harbin City was illegally arrested on May 6, 2016 and held in the Shuangcheng Detention Center. As a result of abuse in detention, he developed pleural effusion and heart failure.
Mr. Wan's family repeatedly went to the Domestic Security Division and the Shuangcheng Detention Center to plead for his release, but their requests were denied.
When Mr. Wan's condition became serious, the detention center gave him injections for nine days. His condition then became critical, so they took him to the hospital. Instead of being released when he recovered, he was taken back to the detention center.
Mr. Wan's health is now very fragile. He is emaciated, has difficulty breathing and needs oxygen. He also contracted tuberculosis in both lungs, and one lung is perforated. He constantly coughs up blood.
Even though his condition is critical, Mr. Wan is shackled to the bed and monitored by police.
Mr. Wan is now 60 years old. By the time he was 37 years old, he had all sorts of illnesses, which doctors said were incurable. After he began practicing Falun Gong, his illnesses miraculously disappeared.
After the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, Mr. Wan was put in forced labor camps three times. In an attempt to force him to give up his belief, he was hung up, handcuffed to a steel chair, beaten, and forbidden to use the restroom. Due to the extreme abuse, Mr. Wan nearly died several times. But as soon as he was released, he quickly recovered and became healthy by doing the Falun Gong exercises.
