1149 People in Gaobeidian File a Combined Criminal Report Against Jiang Zemin

April 16, 2016 |   By a Falun Gong Practitioner in Hebei Province, China

(Minghui.org) In Gaobeidian, a county-level city in China's south-central Hebei Province, 1149 people filed a joint criminal report against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Several local people later reported that their lives improved after they signed the lawsuit.

A couple in their 30s, Xiao Xue and Xiao Hao, had struggled in business for 10 years. They attempted to make a living with different businesses, but never could break even. They signed their names to support the lawsuits against Jiang, and their business picked up. They are now earning a good income and told practitioners that they felt they were rewarded for their good deed.

Niu Niu was a naughty first-grader. He didn't care about his homework and his grades always fell in the bottom 10 percent of his class. His teachers and parents didn't know how to help him. One day Niu Niu watched his grandma sign the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin and said he wanted to sign, too. Pleased at his initiative, the adults let him sign.

Niu Niu had a major turnaround after that and got good scores on his final exams. He ranked in the upper half of his class. His teacher called his parents to tell them about Niu Niu's great progress and said he was now able to concentrate much better during class.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a cultivation practice of the Buddha school that was introduced to the public by Master Li Hongzhi in 1992. Falun Gong practitioners do five exercises each day and follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in their daily lives. Many people experience tremendous health benefits after practicing Falun Gong, and the practice quickly spread by word of mouth in China. By 1999, approximately 100 million people in China were practicing Falun Gong daily, and the moral standard nationwide was improving.

The same year, Jiang Zemin initiated a brutal persecution of Falun Gong. Propaganda vilifying the practice was broadcast through state-controlled media, and police all over the nation were incited to commit acts of violence against its practitioners.

To justify the persecution, a “self-immolation on Tiananmen Square” was staged in 2001 to smear Falun Gong and further incite widespread hatred against practitioners. The persecution policy made many people, especially government employees in the legal field, accomplices to the crimes against humanity. It also destroyed China's reputation as a law-abiding society.

Government officials engaged in even more heinous and corrupt practices, including being privy to organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners. The moral standard bottomed out. In one way or another, all Chinese became victims of the persecution.

But good will be rewarded and evil will be punished. Many people have told practitioners that they were blessed after they showed support for Falun Gong. Meanwhile, officials involved in the persecution have been being arrested and had their property confiscated as part of the anti-corruption campaign.

According to statistics from the Minghui website, more than 200,000 Falun Gong practitioners and their family members have filed lawsuits against Jiang since May 2015.
