Additional Persecution News from China – October 10, 2016 (17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 17 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 16 were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Mr. Li Lanqiang Facing Trial

Mr. Li Lanqiang will be tried on October 13, 2016.

2. [Meihekou City, Jilin Province] Mr. Liu Quanwu Transferred to Gongzhuling Prison

Mr. Liu Quanwu's daughter went to Tonghua Prison to visit him on September 27, 2016, but was told that he had been transferred to Meihekou Detention Center. The next day she went there and was told that he was transferred to Gongzhuling Prison.

3. [Guan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Lu Qinglan and Ms. Li Huanfang Arrested

Ms. Lu Qinglan and Ms. Li Huanfang were arrested by officers from the Liangtang Town Police Station on October 5, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

They were detained for two days and then taken to Liaocheng Detention Center on October 7. The center refused to accept Ms. Li due to her high blood pressure. She has returned home. Ms. Lu is still being detained.

4. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Ms. Lin Yanzhen, Ms. Li Yuzhi, Ms. Du, and another female practitioner were arrested by officers from the Changqing Police Station on September 27, 2016, for posting informational stickers about the persecution of Falun Gong.

The police ransacked Ms. Li's home the next day and confiscated two printers, a computer, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings.

The police also ransacked Ms. Lin's home and confiscated Falun Gong books and other personal belongings.

All four practitioners are being held at Changqing Detention Center.

5. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Shuzhi Sentenced

Ms. Wang Shuzhi was tried at a detention center on July 26, 2016, and sentenced to a three-year-and-six-month prison term.

6. [Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Wu Xiaojiao Detained

When Ms. Wu Xiaojiao's family received a detention notice on October 7, 2016 they learned that she was being held at Xinzhou Detention Center.

7. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Ye Fengxia Held at Brainwashing Center

Ms. Ye Fengxia was arrested and taken to a detention center, along with other friends, on September 24, 2016, when she was visiting a friend. She was taken to Xili Brainwashing Center on October 8.

8. [Pingquan County, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Xiurong, Ms. Wang Jinling, and Ms Liu Yanru were arrested at Ms. Liu Xiurong's home by officers from the Pingquan Town Police Station on October 9, 2016, when they were reading Falun Gong books.

9. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Yue Lanxiang Detained

Ms. Yue Lanxiang is held at Nanyang City Detention Center.

10. [Yuping County, Guizhou Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced

Three practitioners were sentenced by the Yuping County Court on June 28, 2016.

Ms. Luo Jinlan was sentenced to a three-year prison term with five years probation, Ms. Song Huying to a three-year prison term with four years probation, and Ms. Shu Manmei to a three-year prison term.

Ms. Shu had been taken to a prison. Her son went to Yuping County Court to ask for his mother's whereabouts but the court staff said that they did not know.

11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhou Jingqian Detained

Ms. Zhou Jingqian was arrested on October 9, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being held at the Guangmingshan Police Station.

12. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yan Jiajie Detained

Mr. Yan Jiajie was arrested on September 27, 2016, and is being held at the Xinbin County Detention Center.

13. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Gai Quanli and Mr. Liu Fengguo Detained

Mr. Gai Quanli and Mr. Liu Fengguo were arrested by officers from Daoerdeng Police Station and Lingyuan Domestic Security Division on October 8, 2016. They are being held at Lingyuan Detention Center.

14. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Shuyuan, Ms. Han Banggui, and Ms. Cao Yajuan were arrested on October 9, 2016.

15. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Suhuan Transferred to Prison

Ms. Liu Suhuan, who is being held at the Anshan No. 1 Detention Center, developed paralysis in one leg due to mistreatment. She now has difficulty taking care of herself. Despite her condition, the center still took her to the Liaoning Province Women's Prison.

16. [Chongqing] Mr. Zhang Jun and Ms. Zhou Huali Arrested

Mr. Zhang Jun and Ms. Zhou Huaili were arrested by officers from the Tiaoshi Police Station on May 24, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are being held at the Banan District Detention Center. The police went to Ms. Zhou's home to harass her family on September 9, 2016.

17. [Xiantao City, Hubei Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Hu Fengcheng, Mr. Liu Xiong, and Ms. Yang Dongmei were arrested on April 13, 2016. They are still being held at the Qianjiang Detention Center. Mr. Zhang Jiaxing was arrested on July 20. His whereabouts are still unknown.
