(Minghui.org) Ms. Bi Yanzhen has been arrested more than 10 times, tortured, and fired from her job during the past decade for practicing Falun Gong.
While detained, she was subjected to the “death bed” torture, shocked with electric batons, hung up, injected with unknown drugs, and force-fed.
Ms. Bi mailed criminal complaints against former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin to the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme People's Court on June 8 and June 20, 2015, respectively.
Chinese law allows citizens to act as plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former Communist Party leader.
In response, the local 610 Office dispatched local police, her employer, and staff from her neighborhood committee to investigate her complaint.
A police officer and two staff members from the Century Xingyuan Neighborhood Administration Committee came to Ms. Bi's home on August 10, 2015. She suspected that the visit concerned the complaint she had filed against Jiang Zemin.
Ms. Bi refused to open her door and instead explained that she filed the complaint because the persecution of Falun Gong violates the Chinese Constitution and that she was fired and tortured to the brink of death simply because of her faith. She added that both Jiang and other perpetrators in the persecution will eventually be brought to justice.
The three people left. One of them told Ms. Bi that afternoon that higher-ranked officers ordered them to investigate people who mailed complaints against Jiang, and that it was not limited to her.
Several people, sent by the head of the Beihuan Road Neighborhood Administration Office, ordered Ms. Bi's husband to sign the “three statements” renouncing Falun Gong on his wife's behalf. She had refused to sign the documents earlier.
“Do you know why those agents didn't talk to my wife directly?” said Ms. Bi's husband. “Because what they did was illegal and they felt guilty. My wife was dismissed because she did not agree to give up Falun Gong. She was almost tortured to death. Yet, she doesn't hate anyone who has persecuted her.”
He added, “She said she felt sorry for the police officers and her employer because they would have to pay for their actions. Suing Jiang is to stop the persecution so that other people would not continue to persecute practitioners and bring [karmic] retribution upon themselves in the future.”
The group of three left after saying “thank you” several times.
