Neighborhood Committee Member: “You Should Indeed Sue Him”

September 20, 2015 |   By a practitioner in China

(Minghui.org) I took my grandson out for a walk on August 28 and encountered a Neighborhood Committee member who was asking around for my address. I approached him and asked him about it.

He wanted to know where I lived, but since I had already been arrested and detained nine times in the past, I was cautious and did not tell him.

I told him we had time to talk right then. He told me that the local police had told him to question me and proceeded to call the local police station.

“She's right next to me now,” he said, “but she's unwilling to show me where she lives.” After he hung up, he asked me, “Did you just go to Beijing to sue someone?”

“I didn't go to Beijing to sue someone,” I said. “I went to the local post office to deliver a criminal complaint—I am suing Jiang Zemin for persecuting Falun Gong. My husband was killed in this persecution, and I have been arrested and detained many times.”

He told me that I should just inform the local government representatives. I asked him, “Can our local government stop the persecution? The persecution has gone one for 16 years, and the whole nation has followed Jiang's order to carry it out.”

I also told him about the wonderful benefits that Falun Gong practitioners enjoy and how it is practiced worldwide. I reminded him that some of the key perpetrators, including Zhou Yongkang, Bo Xilai, Wang Lijun, and Li Dongsheng, have been apprehended and prosecuted, and that over 170,000 people have since sued Jiang for his genocidal campaign against Falun Gong.

He had his own thoughts on the issue. “You should sue the detention center,” he said.

“That may be true,” I said.“ But although they ignored their consciences and blindly carried out orders, Jiang Zemin is the person responsible—he is the main culprit in the persecution.”

After my explanation, he had a whole new outlook. “Yes, you should indeed sue him,” he said. “If anyone asks you in the future about this, you can just say your husband was persecuted to death, and that's why you sued.

“If you have any difficulties, let me know and I'll support you.”
