(Minghui.org) Four Falun Gong practitioners from Fengren District, Tangshan City were arrested in Zhenzi Town of Luan County on July 24, 2015 for distributing Falun Gong informational materials.
The four practitioners are Ms. Sun Shuping, Ms. Sun Yanzhi, Ms. Niu Ruiqin and Mr. Cai Hongshu.
Feng Guozhong, deputy police chief, hit Mr. Cai's face twice, Ms. Sun Yanzhi's face twice and Ms. Niu's face once, while another police officer held them by their hair.
The practitioners were body searched and their belongings were confiscated. Police also attempted to draw blood from them, but the practitioners resisted and the police finally gave up.
When the families of the practitioners found out about the arrest, they went to the police station and were brutally beaten as well.
“A young officer held my hair from behind my back. Another one held my right arm with one hand and beat my right shoulder with his other hand,” said one of the family members.
She continued, “I was beaten down to the ground and the severe pain made me almost pass out. The police yelled and cursed at me while they beat me and pulled some of my hair out.”
Deputy police chief Feng entered the room and when told about the beating he said, “I didn't see anything.”
The practitioners were taken to the Luan County Detention House on July 25. Ms. Sun Yanzhi, Mr. Cai and Ms. Niu were detained for 15 days and released on August 9, 2015.
Ms. Sun Shuping's family was told that she was picked up by police from the Zhenzi Town Police Station on August 7. Police at Zhenzi Town released her on bail on August 10, 2015.
While in the police station, Ms. Sun Shuping was tied to a metal chair for 16 hours. Her legs were swollen and she could not raise her left arm. The police tried to have her admitted to the No.1 Detention Center of Tangshan City three times, but failed because of her poor health.
Seven people, including Liu Shuqing from the Luan County Domestic Security Division, Feng Guozhong from the Zhenzi Town Police Station, and Zeng Xianghai from the Fengrui District Domestic Security Division harassed Ms. Sun Shuping and ransacked her home three days after her release. They confiscated Falun Gong books and a picture of the founder of Falun Gong.
