Beijing: Two Women Tortured in Detention

August 18, 2015 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Beijing

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Liu Yanmei and Ms. Wang Rulan are tortured by guards at the Nihe Detention Center in Shunyi District.

When Ms. Liu Yanmei refused to recite the prison regulations, policewoman Meng Lu chained her to a wooden board for three days.

Ms. Liu was not allowed to use the toilet. The cell began to reek of urine. Therefore, her cellmates forced her to comply with the prison rules.

Ms. Liu Yanmei’s was arrested at a bus station on July 8, 2015 for telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong, after an informant reported her to the police.

Since the suppression of Falun Gong began in 1999, Ms. Liu has been detained several times and held in forced labor camps and brainwashing centers.

Officer Meng demanded that Ms. Wang stop practicing Falun Gong. Ms. Wang refused. Angered by her failure to “transform” Ms. Wang, Meng punished the inmates in the cell.

Everyone was ordered to sit in bed with their legs crossed. If one moved only slightly, the entire group would receive greater punishment. After several days, many inmates became sick. Instead of protesting the persecution, the criminal inmates turned their anger against 66-year-old Wang Rulan, blaming her practice of Falun Gong for their misery.
