(Minghui.org) Mr. Wang Deqing, a Falun Gong practitioner and former police officer from Huanren County, Liaoning Province, was illegally tried and sentenced to a four-year prison term by the Huanren County Court on May 26, 2015. During the trial, the judge paid no attention to Mr. Wang's attorney's defense and reached the verdict without any physical evidence or witnesses.

On the day of the trial, extra police were deployed by the Huanren County Court and the Domestic Security Division. The only people allowed in the courtroom were Mr. Wang’s wife and his attorney. Everyone else was denied their right to enter the courtroom, which is in violation of Chinese citizens' rights and interests.

Mr. Wang was illegally arrested in Qinghai Province by Guo Xueyi and four officers from the Huanren County Domestic Security Division on May 11, 2015. Two days later, he was taken to the Xihu Detention Center in Benxi City. After Mr. Wang’s arrest, Wang Sijie, the judge of the Huanren Court, could not wait to put him on trial.Prior Arrest and Persecution

Mr. Wang was arrested by officers from the Huanren County Domestic Security Division on the morning of June 4, 2013. In September, the arrest was approved. In October, his family hired an attorney for him.

On the morning of December 2, 2013, the day he was scheduled to be tried, he was too emaciated to walk. Before the trial began, he was taken to the Huanren County Hospital for emergency treatment because he suddenly began having convulsions and went into shock. Three days later, he was taken back to the detention center even though he had not fully recovered.

Mr. Wang was later sent back to the hospital due to his severely deteriorated physical condition. He was diagnosed with tuberculosis and hospitalized for 23 days. He was released on bail pending trial, which was to be held in six months. The court officers harassed his family several times and tried to bring him to court. Mr. Wang had to leave home to avoid further persecution.

Mr. Wang worked as a police officer for nearly 10 years from 1994 to November 2003. After the CCP started to persecute Falun Gong in July 1999, Mr. Wang was persecuted many times. He was subject to forced labor in February 2002. While he was detained at a forced labor camp, he was persecuted by being confined in a small room, handcuffed behind his back, and beaten. As a result, he developed lumbar intervertebral disc herniation and his right ear was injured. In November 2003, he was fired without any explanation.
