(Minghui.org) Mr. Li Xiangdong, 47, a Falun Gong practitioner from Chongqing has filed a criminal complaint with China's Supreme Procuratorate against former Party leader Jiang Zemin for false imprisonment and other charges.

Mr. Li mailed his criminal complaint against Jiang to the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate

Brief Description of the Persecution of Mr. Li

From August to October 1999, Mr. Li was illegally arrested and detained three times for protesting the persecution. The third time, his term was extended to a total of a year and ten months because he refused to renounce his faith.

During this time, he was hung up by his arms, confined in a water dungeon, brutally beaten, verbal abused, and starved.

In May 2002, Mr. Li was again arrested and sentenced to 15 years for distributing Falun Gong information via a TV broadcast. In a prison in Chongqing, Mr. Li endured severe mental torment and physical torture. He was released some time after 2008.

In August 2012, Mr. Li was arrested again and sent to Huayan Detention Center for a year. Due to lack of evidence, he was later bailed out. However, he was not allowed to go free after posting bail; he was transferred instead to the Qianzhugou Brainwashing Center in Chongqing for six months.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the 610 Office, on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
