Additional Persecution News from China – April 17, 2015 (17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 18 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Chongqing] Mr. Liao Guoyu Arrested

Mr. Liao Guoyu from the Jiulongpo District was arrested on April 13, 2015, for distributing informational DVDs about Falun Gong. His home was ransacked, and his Falun Gong books, money with messages about Falun Gong written on it, MP3 player, and other items were seized. Mr. Liao was released that afternoon.

2. [Liaoyang, Liaoning] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Tang Shuhua, Ms. Xia Suzhen, Ms. Zhang Limian, and Ms. Liu from the Hongwei District were arrested by officers from the Gongnong Police Station on April 15, 2015, for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. Ms. Xia was released that day. The 3 other practitioners were taken to the Liaoyang Detention Center.

3. [Dongliao, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuying Arrested

Ms. Zhang Xiuying from Anshu Town was reported to the police and arrested on April 14, 2015, for spending money with messages about Falun Gong written on them.

4. [Deyang, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Wenying Detained

Ms. Chen Wenying was arrested by officers from the Luoshui Police Station on April 15, 2015, for explaining the facts about Falun Gong in Luoshui Town. She was taken to a detention center.

5. [Changsha, Human Province] Ms. Gong Xianghui's Home Ransacked

More than 10 agents from the Chaoyang Community Office and the Chaoyang Police Station in the Furong District barged into Mr. Gong Xianghui's home on April 10, 2015, and seized Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs, a laptop computer, a USB drive, and other items.

6. [Suzhou, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Li Jinan Imprisoned

Ms. Li Jinan was taken to the Nanjing Women's Prison on April 15, 2015.

7. [Rizhao, Shandong Province] Ms. Cong Guiping Arrested

Ms. Cong Guiping from Huiyang Residential Quarters was arrested on April 14, 2015, when she was out raising awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her whereabouts are unknown.

8. [Chongqing] Ms. Zou Hualan Arrested

Ms. Zou Hualan from the Changshou District was taken to the Luoqi Police Station on January 16, 2015. Officers Yang Zhigang and Li Yu beat her. The Yubei Court authorities plans to place her on trial.

9. [Hegang, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Liu Yuekun Arrested

Mr. Liu Yuekun was arrested by officers from the Xinyi Police Station on April 15, 2015, for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs.

10. [Heze, Shandong Province] Ms. Peng Lingyun Arrested

Ms. Peng Lingyun was arrested by officers from the Nancheng Police Station in mid-March, 2015, for talking about Falun Gong. Her tricycle was seized. Ms. Peng managed to escape, but had to stay away from her home to avoid being arrested again.

11. [Beijing] Mr. Zou Deyong Detained

Mr. Zou Deyong from Yantai, Shandong Province, was recently arrested in Beijing by officers from the Huilongguan Police Station. He was taken to the Haidian Detention Center.

12. [Beijing] Ms. Chen Manxin and Mr. Shi Yingji Arrested

Ms. Chen Manxin and Mr. Shi Yingji from Yanqing County were arrested on April 14, 2015. A printer was seized.

13. [Yibin, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhang Xingjian and His Wife Arrested

Officers barged into Mr. Zhang Xingjian's home in Nanan'qixing Residential Quarters and arrested Mr. Zhang and his wife Ms. Chen Xinying on April 16, 2015.

14. [Jintang, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhou Congzhi Arrested

Ms. Zhou Congzhi from Baiguo Town was arrested on April 15, 2015. She managed to escape.

15. [Wifang, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Yulian, in her 50s, from Zhucheng was arrested with 3 other practitioners on April 15, 2015, for talking about Falun Gong.

16. [Junan, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Chuanju Imprisoned

Ms. Wang Chuanju was sentenced to 4 years in prison by the Junan Court on November 18, 2014. She was sent to the Shandong Women's Prison on April 14, 2015.

17. [Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Zhao Xiangzhen and Ms. He Arrested

Ms. He and Ms. Zhao Xiangzhen were arrested by officers from the Pencheng Police Station and the Saihu Police Station on April 15, 2015. Their homes were ransacked.
