(Minghui.org) Police from the Nanjing Police Department in Jiansu Province have recently intensified their efforts to stop local residents from suing former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin, who initiated the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
Below is a summary of events that took place in various districts in Nanjing.
Mr. Ling Jun was detained for 10 days, and dozens of other practitioners and their families were harassed or threatened.
More than 20 practitioners were arrested and their homes ransacked. They were interrogated at the police station, and forced to give their fingerprints and to sign paperwork. Ms. Zhu Defeng was detained at the Nanjing Women's Detention Center. Ms. Zhang Yufang is also detained at an unknown location.
At least five practitioners were arrested and their homes ransacked.
Three practitioners were arrested and their homes ransacked.
Mr. Peng Yu was arrested.
All mail to Beijing and Xinjiang Province beginning August 20, 2015, started requiring the identification of the mailer. Several post offices have refused the lawsuit letters, and some have even called the police.
The police and local government officials also went to practitioners' homes to force them to sign agreements to not sue Jiang.
