(Minghui.org) Six Falun Gong practitioners from Chongqing planned to visit Pingtang County, Guizhou Province on September 9, 2015. When they purchased train tickets at the Caiyuanba Train Station in Chongqing, their resident identification cards were scanned, and two of them were taken to a police station. Officers confiscated their Falun Gong books, flyers, and other informational materials.
The railway police called the local Domestic Security Division to pick up the practitioners, but they refused.
“These people even dare to sue Jiang Zemin,” they were told. “If they sue us, we might lose our jobs. We don't want to deal with this. You can talk to your local police.”
Before leaving the police station, the two practitioners asked the police to return their property. The railway police refused and said that they wanted to read the materials. The police drove the two practitioners home.
There have been many cases at Chongqing's train stations where police used Falun Gong practitioners' resident cards to identify and arrest them.
Ms. Qin Li from Jiangbei District, Chongqing was arrested at Fengdu Train Station on November 11, 2014. She was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison by the Jiangbei District Court.
Four practitioners, Chen Dingyu, Liu Qifu, Mr. Dai Guoquan, and his wife, wanted to travel to their hometown in Qu County on February 27, 2015. They were identified through their resident cards and searched by Qu County Police. The police confiscated their Falun Gong books and DVDs.
An unidentified Chongqing practitioner was searched when he bought a train ticket at Longtousi Train Station for a family visit.
Ms. Li Huilan from Xiaolongkan, Shapingba District was identified by her resident card on July 23, 2015. She was taken to the police station at the Caiyuanba Train Station and transferred to the Qianzhugou Brainwashing Center in the Shapingba District.
Ms. Jiang Yourong was arrested and taken to the same police station after police checked her resident card on July 23, 2015. Officers searched her luggage and confiscated her Falun Gong books and music players. The police also interrogated her and took photos and videos of her.
When police departments make identification cards, they add special labels into the cards of practitioners. These labels can be seen when the cards are scanned. This is a violation of China's Identity Card Bill.
