(Minghui.org) Sometimes it takes great courage to speak the truth. One example is the well-known novel, The Emperor's New Clothes, by Danish writer Hans Andersen. Although everyone knew the emperor had no clothes on, no one—except for a small child—dared to say it, fearing that speaking the truth would cause them trouble.

But in the end, we learned that everyone agreed with the one who was brave enough to point out the obvious, and he earned their respect.

The same thing holds true today. What follows is the story of a woman who was diagnosed with late-stage lymphoma. Even though Falun Gong has been defamed by state-run news media in China over the past 15 years, she turned to Falun Gong for its health benefits and its principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

And the results were miraculous.

It all started three years ago in a small town in Heilongjiang Province, in northeast China. Yuying, 46, found a lump on her neck. A doctor confirmed it was lymphoma. She was put on a series of treatments in Harbin, the provincial capital. However, the tumor grew larger. The doctor who reviewed the test results announced it was late stage cancer and incurable.

Pointing to the MRI, he told Yuying, “It's already spread to your entire body, including your four limbs. There's no hope at all. If you leave now, you can probably make it home.”

His words caused Yuying great despair. She thought, “So, I'm just going to die like this?”

She soon received a phone call from her aunt, who lives in another province. Her aunt had a suggestion, “Maybe you can try practicing Falun Gong. It helped me and many of my friends. You have nothing to lose, right?”

Yuying remembered hearing about Falun Gong from her aunt before, but never took it seriously because the media said bad things about the practice for so many years.

“But what if my aunt is right?” Yuying wondered. She had always trusted her aunt, and the entire family knew how her aunt's health and personality had improved. She thought, “Why should I care what the news media say?—there are so many lies in it anyway.”

Yuying made up her mind and told the doctor, “I'm going home. My aunt said Falun Gong can help me. I will try it and let you know.”

By reading books and listening to lectures, Yuying began practicing Falun Gong as soon as she returned home. Moved by her positive attitude and her aunt's sincerity, her entire family encouraged her. “Your aunt said a person would be blessed for supporting the upright. We will all recite 'Falun Dafa is good' and 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good' from now on,” one relative said.

Yuying's recovery went surprisingly well. Fluid occasionally drained from the tumor in her neck. It smelled bad, and sometimes small lumps came out. It was not painful, and the wound quickly healed. She knew she did not need to worry about it.

Several months later, Yuying and her daughter went to the doctor again. He ordered another MRI and compared it with the old one side by side.

“These images can't be from the same person,” the doctor concluded. “Plus, the person in the first image is surely already deceased.”

“What are you talking about?” Yuying's daughter cried out, “This is my mom. Why would I bring anyone else here?!”

“Tell me, what did you do after you went home?” the doctor anxiously asked.

“I have been practicing Falun Gong these few months. And my entire family joined me saying 'Falun Dafa is good' and 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.'”

“Oh, I see.” The doctor was still not convinced, “You mean you didn't take any medicine?”

“No, not at all. The medicines didn't work for me, so I stopped taking them,” Yuying replied.

Yuying's health continued to improve, and she did not return to the hospital. She's now able to do manual labor.

“My mom is a new person now. Not only is she healthy, but her bad temper is gone!” Yuying's daughter happily tells people.
