Things Will Change When We Truly Look Inward

June 27, 2014 |   By a practitioner from Helongjiang Province, China

(Minghui.org) I was very stressed a few years ago by a conflict between my practitioner husband and Practitioner A. The more my husband disliked the way Practitioner A did things, the more problems he encountered.

We were looking for a new apartment when our lease was due to expire, when Practitioner A happened to visit me and told me that a relative of his had a house to lease. He said he would ask his relative whether we could lease it. My husband later asked Practitioner A several times about it, but A just brushed him off, saying things like, “Just wait a few days.” We waited and waited, but Practitioner A never gave us an answer.

My husband didn't understand why he would behave like that, and every time I mentioned it, he revealed his dissatisfaction. I tried very hard to calm him down, saying, “Doesn't this help you to improve your xinxing? Isn't it a good thing to eliminate your resentment? There is no reason to be angry. Isn't this a setup by the old forces to create barriers between practitioners? You shouldn't be fooled.” Yet, my husband replied every time with dissatisfaction, “Your level is high, mine is not.”

When the topic came up again a few days later, I thought of Master's words,

“If a third person witnesses the conflict between the two, I would say that it’s not accidental for that third person to see it, and he too should think it over: “Why did I see their conflict? Is it because I still have some shortcomings?” (“Teaching the Fa at the Western U.S. Fa Conference”)

So this time I didn't try to persuade my husband like before. Instead I looked inward. Although I had no resentment towards Practitioner A, I must have been jealous. Master said,

"Buddha’s light shines everywhere, propriety and righteousness harmonize everything." (Zhuan Falun)

I realized that, had my energy field been truly pure, my husband would not have revealed this resentment in front of me. So I sent forth righteous thoughts to get rid of my jealousy. Soon, I heard my husband say to himself, "Actually, I should not be angry. Practitioner A did not help us to find an apartment, but didn't this become a good thing!” Just like that, when I looked inward, the barrier between my husband and Practitioner A easily diappeared.
