The Donggang Court in Liaoning Province ordered Ms. Guo Yunlan to a court hearing on the false pretense that she would be “bailed out for medical treatment” on June 20, 2013. During the proceedings, Ms. Guo fainted from extreme fear and anxiety. While she was unconscious, the police took her to the No. 1 Dandong Hospital for a physical check-up. The hospital found that Ms. Guo had suffered a stroke and had high blood pressure. Ms. Guo was nevertheless detained at the Dandong Detention Center in spite of her critical condition.

The Dongang City Police Department, the Procuratorate and the court system worked together to sentence Ms. Guo to three years in prison on August 21, 2013. She was sent to the Shenyang Women’s Prison. Ms. Guo is dying from persecution in the prison hospital.

Ms. Guo Yunlan has been very kind to her family and everyone else since she started practicing Falun Dafa. Her family has been very happy and harmonious. During the 14 years of persecution by the CCP, she has been arrested six times, detained once, sentenced to forced labor camp once and sentenced to prison twice. Her total imprisonment time is four years and two weeks. Her persecution history is summarized briefly as follows.

1. Arrested, Detained and Sentenced to Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Guo went to Beijing to validate Dafa on August 12, 1999. As a result, she was detained for 15 days. The Changshan Police Station of Donggang City fined her three thousand yuan, without giving her a receipt. In September of the same year, Ms. Guo was once again arrested and sentenced to forced labor for one year. She was tortured at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City. At the labor camp, Ms. Guo compromised her belief due to police threats, physical punishment and brainwashing. After coming home, with help from her fellow practitioners, Ms. Guo took up the study and practice again and quickly returned to cultivating Dafa.

2. Memory Loss and Three Years of Torture in Prison

Ms. Guo was arrested by Donggang City National Security Team Leader Wang Runlong and police from the Huayuan Police Station on April 9, 2002. She was detained at the Donggang Detention Center. After her house was searched, the police confiscated over a dozen Falun Dafa books. Ms. Guo went on hunger strike with other practitioners to protest the detention and persecution. She was severely beaten by policewoman Ji Haojie.

Police Chief Wang Runlong framed her and handed her case over to the Procuratorial Department. The Donggang City Police Department, the Procuratorate, and the Court System worked together to sentence her to three years in Dabei Prison (later re-named Shenyang Women’s Prison). Ms. Guo was subjected to brainwashing, physical punishment and torture. She suffered memory loss and became mentally confused. After she was released and started to study the Fa and do the exercises again, she recovered physically.

3. Fourth Arrest Leads to Abnormal Bleeding

When Ms. Guo went to visit her relatives in Changshan County, Donggang City on the morning of September 12, 2010, she clarified the truth to a passerby, who then reported her to the police. She was arrested and taken to the Bianfang Police Station in Changshan. The police confiscated three of her Dafa books, several truth-clarifying brochures and a box of DVDs. Team lead Wang Runlong went to the police station to interrogate Ms. Guo, but she refused to answer questions. Wang Runlong transferred Ms. Guo to the Dandong Detention Center. During the detention, the Donggang police fabricated evidence against her, intending to transfer her case to the Donggang Procuratorate.

During the two month persecution at the Dandong Detention Center, Ms. Guo refused to wear the prison uniform or recite the regulations. Three or four women prison guards severely beat Ms. Guo. She suffered memory loss and mental confusion again. Ms. Guo started to have abnormal bleeding on November 19, 2010, so she was taken to the Dandong Women and Children's Hospital. After 24 hours of treatment, she was eventually “bailed out” and released home. During her detention, her family spent nine thousand yuan in order to rescue her and deal with those who persecuted her.

The Donggang Procuratorate filed charges against Ms. Guo with the Donggang Court at the end of December 2010. The court twice used the excuse of “verifying her ID” to summon her. Ms. Guo refused to cooperate with them and left home after receiving the summons. After she left, police officer Liang Chawei from the Bianfang Police Station went to her home several times and harassed her family before posting a warrant for Ms. Guo's arrest on-line.

4. Arrested for the Fifth Time

A man and a woman claiming to be police from the Dandong City Police Department broke into Ms. Guo’s home at the end of June 2011. They tried to force Ms. Guo to give up cultivation and write a guarantee statement that defamed Falun Dafa. Ms. Guo refused to write anything, and the two police officers dragged her towards the police vehicle. Ms. Guo was very distraught and fell down, unconscious.

The police disregarded her situation and dragged her into the police vehicle. They also took her husband, Yu Jun, to the Dandong City Police Department. The police threatened to send Ms. Guo to the detention center, and demanded that Yu Jun act as the “guarantor” of Ms. Guo.

They forced Yu Jun to sign and fingerprint the “guarantee statement” to control all of Ms. Guo’s freedom. To rescue his wife, Yu Jun gave his fingerprint and signature. They actually obtained these to be used as false testimony and evidence against Ms. Guo, and then they released her to go home as being “bailed out for trial.” Once they released Ms. Guo, they posted the warrant for her arrest on-line.

5. Donggang City Police Department, Procuratorial Department, and Court Frame Ms. Guo Yunlan

Wu Dalong, the director of the Changshan Bianfang Police Station, had Liang Chuanwei go to Ms. Guo’s home on August 12, 2011, and tell her family that Ms. Guo’s case was returned to the Procuratorate. Now it was returned to the Bianfang Police Station, and the police station entrusted Liang to deal with this case. He came to take Ms. Guo to the procuratorial department to sign the documents. Once she did so, he said, her case would be over. Ms. Guo’s family believed him, and sent Ms. Guo with him.

When they got to the Procuratorate Department, a short, thin man came over with a blank sheet of paper and placed it in front of Ms. Guo. They gave Ms. Guo a pen and asked her to sign and fingerprint the blank sheet of paper. Liang Chuanwei was standing right beside her. Ms. Guo could not understand and asked: “What do you want me to sign a blank sheet paper for?” Both the short thin man and Liang Chuanwei answered: “You are free after you sign it.” Ms. Guo believed them, signed the blank paper and put her fingerprint there. Liang Chuanwei then sent Ms. Guo home.

Police officer Liang Chuanwei called Ms. Guo’s husband on September 20 the same year, telling him to bring Ms. Guo to court for her signature, saying, “After we have her signature, the case will be over.” She believed him and signed. Actually, Liang Chuanwei ended up taking both of them to the Donggang Court, where the couple received a “legal statement” full of lies. They were notified that Ms. Guo would go on trial before October 1. The lawsuit statement presented Ms. Guo’s husband and daughter as “witnesses” who agreed with the persecution. Ms. Guo was forced to leave home, but she soon returned and continued to clarify the truth to people about Falun Gong and the persecution.

6. Sixth Arrest Leads to Stroke and Hemiplegia

Policeman Liang Chuanwei from the Bianfang Police Station called Ms. Guo’s daughter to ask Ms. Guo to go to court to sign a document on around June 20, 2013, claiming that the court wanted to have Ms. Guo “bailed out for medical reasons.” They said: “Go and come back after you sign, and this time, you will surely be fine.”

Ms. Guo’s daughter believed Liang Chuanwei, so she persuaded her mom to go. Ms. Guo agreed to it without thinking it through. After they got to the court, the staff refused to allow Ms. Guo’s daughter to enter the court with her mother. She had to wait outside. When it was lunch time, they did not give Ms. Guo any food. Her daughter went downstairs to buy her lunch, but the staff did not allow her to eat.

It is not yet known what the court staff did with Ms. Guo behind closed doors, but shortly after she entered, she collapsed, and then she was forcibly taken to the Dandong No. 1 Hospital for a physical check-up and detention. The Dandong No. 1 Hospital found that Ms. Guo suffered from high blood pressure and “cerebral infarction.” The hospital told the court staff that Ms. Guo suffered from serious illness and she was in critical condition.

7. Dongguang Court Fabricated Medical Records to Ensure Detention

The staff of the Donggang Court disregarded the doctors’ advice, and forcibly dragged Ms. Guo Yunlan to the Dandong Detention Center. After finding out that Ms. Guo was seriously ill, the detention center refused to accept her. So the court worked with the Donggang City Central Hospital to fabricate a fake medical record and got Ms. Guo admitted to the Dandong City Detention Center anyway.

The Donggang Court put Ms. Guo on trial with false allegations on August 5, 2013. Only Ms. Guo’s daughter was present at the court hearing. Except for reading the fabricated statement out loud, there was no open trial. One week later, the Donggang Court secretly sentenced Ms. Guo to three years. At first, the court sentenced Ms. Guo to two years, but another year was added because of another false allegation. One week later the detention center called one of her family members, asking them to deposit money with the detention center for Ms. Guo. Her family member did not go.

The Gonggang Court sentenced Guo Yunlan to Shenyang Women's Prison with no open trial, and without giving her family the verdict, on August 21, 2013. They refused to give her family the verdict even when her family went to ask for it.

8. Refused “Medical Bail” Despite Critical Condition

When the prison found out that Ms. Guo suffered from “cerebral infarction” and high blood pressure, they sent her directly into the prison hospital to force her to be transformed. When Yu Jun went to visit her, he found that Ms. Guo could hardly walk and needed support to stand. Both her mental and physical conditions were very poor. Because she refused to be transformed or give up her practice of Falun Gong, she was not allowed to be bailed out for medical treatment.

Ms. Guo Yunlan is being tortured at the prison hospital to this day.
