Retiree Ms. Yu Huifang Arrested, Her Home Ransacked

(Minghui.org) Ms. Yu Huifang, 53, was illegally arrested on the evening of February 25, 2013, while distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in Shuitou Village, Haiyangsuo Town. Officers from the Bianfang Police Station in Haiyangsuo Town made the arrest.

Police ransacked Ms. Yu's home at 11 p.m the same night, confiscating many of her personal belongings. Ms. Yu was later taken to a detention center.

Ms. Yu is from Rushan City, Shandong Province. She is a retired employee of the Jinling Middle School in this city. Previously, she was harassed by police for speaking to people about Falun Gong. She was also arrested in the spring of 2005 and sentenced to three years of forced labor. Her home was ransacked by police at that time as well.

Following the 2005 arrest, Ms. Yu was sent to the Shandong No. 2 Women's Forced Labor Camp, where she was subjected to various kinds of torture, including sleep deprivation and sitting on a small stool for prolonged periods of time. She was also forced to perform slave labor.

Ms. Yu's son was in high school while she was incarcerated in the labor camp. Her husband had to take care of their son and his elderly mother by himself.
