(Minghui.org) The following is a summary of atrocities committed at the No. 4 Division of Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Changchun during 2012.
Ms. Liu Jun, 52, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Changchun who was sentenced to forced labor for one year. Since she refused to write repentance statements she was subjected to beatings, being forced to stand for long periods of time, and sleep deprivation. She was forced to stand for extended periods of time, daily, for one month beginning on May 8, 2012. She was then forced to sit on a small bench for another month, daily, from 5:30 a.m. to midnight.
Ms. Zhang Jianying, 52, was sentenced to one year of forced labor. She developed a variety of illnesses while being brutally mistreated, including diabetes and hypertension (180-220). She was also forced to stand, sit, and was deprived of sleep for over five months beginning in May 2012.
Ms. Ming Yanpo, 64, was sentenced to one year of forced labor. During this time she was forced to stand, was deprived of sleep for two months, and subjected to beatings.
Jane Doe (She refused to tell her name) is 39 years old. She was sentenced to one year of forced labor. She was beaten and kicked on Saturday July 20, 2012. Guard Zhu Dan came the next day, a day he was not scheduled to work, and shocked her with an electric baton. On Monday, guards Jin Lihua, Zhu Dan, and Zhang Xiaohui took her away again and shocked her with three electric batons, until she was covered with wounds. She was forced to stand from 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on a daily basis. On August 2, the guard took her to the guards changing room, cuffed her hands to the top of a bunk bed, and shocked her while ordering her to reveal her name. Her screams could be heard by all.
Guards Used Stretching Method to Torture Falun Gong Practitioners
Guards Zhu Dan, Jin Lihua, and Zhang Xiaohui began torturing Falun Gong practitioners using the "stretching" method on September 2, 2012. Victims were handcuffed and shackled to each corner of a single bed, and stretched tight, so the practitioner's body was suspended over the middle of the bed without touching the mattress area.
Falun Gong practitioners who were subjected to the stretching torture included Jane Doe, Zhang Jianying, Xu Hui, Lei Xiuxiang (age 56), and Ms. Fei Guilin, who was stretched for 24 hours. Ms. Wang Lanying, 56, a Falun Gong practitioner from Changchun, was tortured with the stretching method twice for over 50 hours. She still suffers from leg pain.
When Ms. Liu Jun was stretched for over 30 hours, she had a heart attack and a generalized convulsion. Inmate Jin Yingshu nonetheless attempted to force her to write a repentance statement. Because she refused to cooperate, and refused to watch a brainwashing video, she was tortured again. She was hanging during the day with her toes barely touched the ground, and cuffed on bed at night. She was tortured for over 40 hours.
Ms. Ming Yanpo, Lei Xiuxiang, and Zhang Jianying were later released for medical treatment. Lei Xiuxiang was held in the labor camp for one year and nine months. Her sentence was extended for an additional month, and she was not released until January 7, 2013.
