(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 7 provinces. In this report, 6 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 12 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Shan Muzhi Beaten to Death

Ms. Shan Muzhi, 70, left home around 6 p.m. on February 25, 2013. Police beat her to death at 8 p.m. near the entrance of Jiujiang Science and Technology Vocational School.

Agents from Lushan District Police Department and Lianhua Police Station took her body to the Jiujiang Crematory in Hejiashan the same evening. A group of police officers surrounded the crematory the next morning. Special police forces arrived in the afternoon. They performed surveillance and checked everyone who passed by.

2. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Jiaju Arrested

Ms. Zhang Jiaju was arrested on April 1, 2013, when she distributed informational materials about Falun Gong near the Laoshe Park in Sifang District. She is currently detained at the Zhongshanlu Police Station.

3. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Lu Guihua Suffers Heart Attack in Police Custody

Yang Xu, Daobe Police Station chief in Ang'angxi District, and six other police agents came to Ms. Lu Guihua's home on March 20, 2013. After they found a copy of Zhuan Falun and a Shen Yun Performing Arts DVD, they arrested Ms. Lu and took her to the police station. They interrogated her from morning to evening, releasing her only after she suffered a heart attack.

4. [Tonghe County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Huang Fengyun and Mr. Zhang Xiaolin Arrested

Ms. Huang Fengyun and Mr. Zhang Xiaolin were arrested on March 29, 2013.

5. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Five Practitioners Arrested and Detained

Five Daqing City practitioners, including Ms. Zang Yuzhen, Ms. Qu Shengzhi, Mr. Liu Enxi, Ms. Yang Liping, and Ms. Gao Xiufen, went to Shenyang on March 22, 2013. Dadong District police arrested them and confiscated their personal belongings.

Police broke the legs of Ms. Qu (68 years old); she was sent to the hospital. Ms. Zang and Mr. Liu (65 years old) are being held at the Shenyang First Detention Center.

6. [Xinyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Huang Xiaobo Detained, Framed by 610 Office

Xinyang City 610 Office agents arrested and detained Ms. Huang Xiaobo in November 2012. They fabricated materials to frame her, but court officials still rejected the case due to insufficient evidence. The 610 Office agents then worked with the Procuratorate in an attempt to sentence her to three years of imprisonment. Ms. Huang has now been detained for 5 months.

7. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Yaling on Hunger Strike in Detention

Ms. Wang Yaling, Ms. Jia Fengxian, and Ms. Xu Shuying went to Nanshijiawu Village in Douzhuang Township on March 27, 2013, to speak to people about Falun Gong. Agents from the Douzhuang Police Station and Domestic Security Division arrested them and took them to a detention center. Officials extorted 5,000 yuan from the family of Ms. Jia and the family of Ms. Xu.

Ms. Wang is still held at the Zhuozhou Detention Center. She has been on a hunger strike for 7 days.

8. [Xinbin County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Junbo Sent to Prison

After Mr. Liu Junbo left home on the afternoon of November 2, 2012, Yushu Town Police Station agents arrested him and held him in the Nangou Detention Center in Fushun City for more than 5 months. Mr. Liu was taken to the Dabei Prison in Shenyang City in March 2013, and then transferred to the Kangjiashan Prison in Shenbeixin District.

9. [Sunan County, Gansu Province] Mr. Wang Yanrong Forced to Stay Away from Home

Officials came to the home of Mr. Wang Yanrong in Huang Town in an attempt to arrest Mr. Wang. He escaped, but was forced to stay away from home.

10. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Si Guiyan Detained for Over 6 Months

Wutaizi Police Station agents arrested Ms. Si Guiyan more than 6 months ago. Xishi District Procuratorate rejected the case due to insufficient evidence. However, Ms. Si is still detained.

11. [Tianjin] Ms. Bo Jie and Husband Detained

Ms. Bo Jie from Hongqiao District and her husband, Mr. Li Yugang, who worked in a state security bureau, were recently arrested. Ms. Bo is currently held at the Hongqiao Detention Center. Mr. Li was secretly transferred out of the Hongqiao Detention Center. His whereabouts are unknown.

12. [Xindu County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zeng Youhui Arrested

Ms. Zeng Youhui from Sanhe Town was arrested at home on the morning of April 1, 2013. Police confiscated two Falun Gong books and two DVDs.
