(Minghui.org) Thirty-four Falun Gong practitioners were arrested in Jilin City between October 17 and 18, 2013. Even young children weren't spared.

Below are some details about these arrests:

Ms. Qian Lijun was arrested at her workplace by officers from Jilin Domestic Security Division, Chuanying District Police Department and Henanjie Police Station. They confiscated several Falun Gong flyers from her. They also called her husband Mr. Wang Jianhua, who works at Jilin Bank, requesting his presence at Henanjie Police Station. The police took Ms. Qian to her home and ransacked it, confiscating two computers. They then took her to Henanjie Police Station. When her husband went to the police station in the afternoon, he was immediately arrested without cause. His current whereabouts are unknown. After the couple's arrest, their 90-year-old mother and teenage son were left at home unattended.

Chain restaurant owner Mr. Zhu Yujun, his wife and their 5-year-old daughter were arrested by officers from Huangqitun Police Station in the Chuanying District at around 9 a.m. on October 18. Mr. Zhu's father was also arrested. The police went to each of Mr. Zhu's restaurants and arrested practitioners who worked there, including Deng Xiaobo, Wang Wenguang, Ma Chi and Wu. Officers from Beishan Police Station also arrested Ms. Che Pingping and ransacked her home.

The couple Li Dequan and Li Dexiang were arrested and taken from their home on the afternoon of October 17. Both of them were directly taken to a detention center.

Li Wenhua, Liu Li, Jiang Wei and Xin Xiuyun were arrested by officers from Hongqi Police Station in the Fengman District at around 7 p.m. on October 17.

Mr. Wang Shouxin and Ms. Su Lirong from Hedong Village, Fengman District in Jilin were arrested on October 18 and detained at Erdao Police Station overnight. The following day, they were taken away by officers from the local domestic security division. Their whereabouts are currently unknown.

Ms. Li Yanfen was arrested by officers from Linjiang Police Station at around 10 a.m. on the morning of October 18. Her home was then ransacked.

Mr. Sun Changsheng was arrested at his restaurant by officers from Beishan Police Station on October 18 at around midday. The police ransacked his home and confiscated three printers, a computer, some Falun Gong books, his ID card, 7000 yuan in cash and other personal belongings. Mr. Sun is currently on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

Mr. Sun Changsheng's niece, who is not a practitioner, was also arrested and detained at Beishan Police Station until 8 p.m.. She was left frightened and traumatized from the experience and now has to take medication to cope with the pressure.

Practitioners who were also arrested during the two-day period include: Liu Bing, Zhuo Yuqing, Gao Chunxiang, Sui Xiuying, Fu Junjuan, Qi Yuzhi, Wang, Chen, Zhan, Sun, Fei, Yu and two other practitioners whose names are unknown. Fu Junli was also arrested, but has since been released.
