September 11, 2012 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Gansu Province, China

(Minghui.org) Police from Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, arrested twelve Falun Gong practitioners on June 11, 2012. The elderly Mr. Li Fubin was among them.

After the police arrested Mr. Li on the morning of June 11, 2012, they sent him to a brainwashing center. Four or five police officers hit and kicked him furiously.

On June 12, at about 10:00 a.m., Ren Jiawei and Young Xi, officers from the Zhangyelu Police Station, delivered a so-called “Administrative Punishment Judgment” (without Mr. Li's signature) from the public security bureau to Mr. Li's house, and took photos of his house.

Mr. Li's family went to the Taoshuping Detention Center to see him on June 14 and brought along some clothing for him. That day, due to the mistreatment, the usually healthy and hearty Mr. Li looked very pale and upset.

On June 25, after 15 days, Mr. Li's detention term was due to finish. Early that morning, his family went to Taoshuping Detention Center to pick him up. However, they were told that Mr. Li had already been picked up by personnel from the Zhangyelu Police Station on June 22. They went to the Zhangyelu Police Station to find Ren Jiawei and Yang Xi.

After Mr. Li's family arrived at the Zhangyelu Police Station, they found out that Mr. Li had already been transferred to the Pingantai Forced Labor Camp and sentenced to an 18-month term without notifying his family. It was said that due to high blood pressure, the labor camp refused to take Mr. Li. The police then transferred him to the Pingantai Forced Labor Camp hospital.

Mr. Li's family went to Pingantai Forced Labor Camp to see him On June 28, but were denied entry by the authorities. The family was told that without a permit from the community and police station, they couldn't see him.

On July 3, Mr. Li was sent to Lanzhou Prison Hospital due to high blood pressure. When his family went to the hospital to see him, they were told that he could not be seen. Family visitation is allowed only on the afternoon of the twelfth of each month.” Feeling hopeless, Mr. Li's family left the hospital.

On July 26, Mr. Li's family got the permit and went to the forced labor camp to visit him, but again were denied. They were told, “The permit is not good because it doesn't say he won't practice Falun Gong.”

On the afternoon of August 12, Mr. Li's family was finally able to see him at the hospital. At that time, he looked okay. He again asked his family to bring him some clothes. His family was very confused because they had delivered the clothes to the detention center for him on June 14. They didn't know why he didn't receive them.
