(Minghui.org) The Kunming City Middle Court secretly tried practitioners Ms. He Guizhen, in her 70s, Ms. Liu Rongxian, 62, and Ms. Li Huimin, in her 50s, on November 21, 2011, and sentenced each of them to a three-year prison term. The court's conduct violated the constitution, the law, and the human rights of these three Falun Gong practitioners.
Plainclothes officers illegally arrested Ms. He Guizhen and Ms. Liu Rongxian while they were distributing Shen Yun DVDs at the Maxianying Market on the morning of March 31, 2011. The practitioners were taken to the Xiaoba Police Station. More than ten officers from the Panlong District Domestic Security Division and the Xiaoba Police Station subsequently searched their homes and confiscated their computers, Falun Dafa books, Falun Dafa truth-clarification materials, and other personal belongings. While they were searching Ms. He's home, the officers arrested practitioner Ms. Li Huimin, who just stopped by to say “Hi.” All three practitioners were taken to the Panlong District Detention Center.
The families of the three arrested practitioners each filed complaints against the officers to the Panlong District Procuratorate. The complaints recorded the illegal conduct of the officers. Also included in the complaint were the practitioners' personal accounts of the positive changes they experienced from practicing Falun Gong.
Persecution Account of Ms. He Guizhen, Currently Detained
Ms. He began practicing Falun Gong in 1997. Before beginning the practice, she suffered from many illnesses and was unable to walk. Her husband, Mr. Lu Zuda, pushed her to the Falun Gong practice site in a wheelchair when she first started. Soon after learning, all of her illnesses disappeared, she became able to walk freely, and she was in good health. On July 20, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched its persecution of Falun Gong. In 2000, she was detained for a month for practicing the Falun Gong exercises outdoors. After that, the factory from which she retired listed her as a person to monitor. A group of people led by the factory CCP secretary Li Qiangli (female), the director of the Security Office Zhou Shanfu, and formed by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Panlong Police Sub-bureau, agents from the 610 Office, and officers from the Changchun Police Station, monitored her, followed her, and repeatedly harassed and threatened her at home. Officer Zhao Yongfu from the Changchun Police Station was one of the officers who frequently harassed her at home. When they were about to take her to a brainwashing center, she left home in order to avoid the persecution.
Ms. He's husband, Mr. Lu Zuda, was a former senior engineer and squadron CCP secretary in the Plantation Branch of the Yunnan Province Forestry Research and Planning Institute. Right after the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong began, on July 22, 1999, he went to the Kunming City government to appeal for the right to practice Falun Dafa. He was arrested and detained at the Xishan Secondary Middle School for the day. After that he was denounced at every weekly CCP committee meeting in the institution. CCP secretary Zhang Desheng pressured him into writing a “guarantee statement.” Mr. Lu refused to write anything that slandered Falun Gong or its founder Master Li Hongzhi, so he was continually targeted for harassment. At the same time, Ms. He was forced to flee from their home to avoid persecution. Ms. He's husband was repeatedly harassed by the police and personnel from his workplace, who often went to his home. He was under constant mental pressure, and constantly worried about his wife. His health deteriorated and he died at age 68, on December 4, 2003.
Ms. He was arrested on the morning of March 31, 2011. At around 2:00 p.m., four officers took her to her home so that they could search it. The officers were from the Domestic Security Division of the Panlong Police Sub-bureau, Xiaoba Police Station (cell numbers: +86-13888646895, +86-15887099249), and the Institute Security Office (director Zhang Yi). They ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Dafa books. She is now being detained at the Panlong District Detention Center.
Ms. Liu Rongxian Arrested and Detained
Ms. Liu Rongxian is a sixty-two-year-old retiree. She graduated from Donghua University in Shanghai. Before she started practicing Falun Gong in 1999, she suffered from many chronic diseases, including ear infections and a disorder of the inner ear that affected her hearing and balance to varying degrees. Her ailments disappeared after she began the practice. She became kinder and more energetic and also looked younger. She followed the principles of Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance and tired to be a good person. She took care of her children and other family members, got along with her friends, and was eager to help others in society. She never cared about personal sacrifice and cared for her family and friends.
Ms. Liu was also arrested on the morning of March 31, 2011. At around 2:00 p.m. that afternoon, five officers (one female) from the Domestic Security Division of the Panlong Police Sub-bureau and Xiaoba Police Station took Ms. Liu with them to her home and ransacked it. They confiscated her computer, a printer, Shen Yun DVDs, and Falun Dafa books and materials. She is now imprisoned at the Panlong District Detention Center.
Ms. Li Huimin Arrested and Detained
In 1994, Ms. Li had rheumatoid heart disease, suffered from deformation of the joints, and had joint pain throughout her body. She went to see doctors at all of the major hospitals in the city, and was told that although the disease was not life threatening, she would have to depend on medicine for the rest of her life. She took painkillers three times a day and used pain relief devices. She lost all hope and confidence in life. One year after she began practicing Falun Gong in 1998, all of her diseases disappeared and she no longer needed any medicine. She could walk well and had a good complexion. Although she was in her fifties, many thought she was only 40. The change in her health helped save money and brought happiness to her family.
Ms. Li arrived at Ms. He's home on March 31, 2011, at around 2:00 p.m., while the officers were ransacking it. She said “Hi” to Ms. He and was about to leave when an officer stopped and searched her. He found Shen Yun DVDs and money with truth-clarification messages in her purse, so he arrested her for “participating in a Falun Gong meeting.”
After 7:00 p.m. that evening, six plainclothes officers (one female), searched her home, and confiscated her computer, a printer, and Falun Dafa materials. She is being held at the Panlong District Detention Center.
