(Clearwisdom.net) The Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival is a joyous family occasion, and during this holiday families come together to celebrate. However, many Falun Gong practitioners in China who are illegally detained in detention centers, prisons, and labor camps can't celebrate the holiday with their families. With the approach of the 2011 Mid-Autumn Festival, practitioner Ms. Xu Xiaohua has been detained in the Fuzhou City No. 1 Detention Center for nearly 12 months. Her son will be all alone this holiday, without even his mother.

Ms. Xu, 40, lives at 4-602 Nanhuhuayuan, Taijiang District, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. She graduated from Zhejiang University and was the department manager of commerce at Weibo Communications Ltd. in Fuzhou. She was arrested around the time of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, in September 2010 because she refused to work as a spy for the police.

Ms. Xu often called people on her cell phone to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. She was thus reported to the authorities, and her cell phone was tapped and monitored by the police for some time. The police then broke into her home on September 16, 2010, and took her computer and other personal belongings. They told Ms. Xu that they wanted her to work for them as a spy and inform on other local practitioners in the area.

When Ms. Xu told them that she didn't know the local practitioners, the police said that they would teach her how to be a spy and that someone would introduce her to local practitioners. They also told her how to gradually get involved in the local practitioners' group. She was warned not to tell anyone about her conversations with the police.

Ms. Xu resolutely refused to become a spy for the police. As a result, she was arrested again around the time of the 2010 Mid-Autumn Festival and subsequently sent to the Fuzhou City No. 1 Detention Center.

Ms. Xu started practicing Falun Gong in Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province in 1998. After the persecution started, she was arrested when she went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. Her home was searched by the police. In 2002, Ms. Xu moved to Fuzhou with her husband, but due to constant harassment and torment from the authorities, her husband divorced her. Ms. Xu has lived alone with her 14-year-old son in Fuzhou since 2006, and has no friends or relatives in the area. As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, her son is all alone, unable to be with his mother.
