(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 10 provinces. As per this report, 22 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 17 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Fuzhou City, Fujian Province] Ms. Li Yaping Arrested

Ms. Li Yaping from Fuzhou City left home with DVDs that clarified the facts about Falun Gong on the evening of July 21, 2011. Patrolling security guards stopped her, searched her purse, and found the DVDs. They took her to the nearby police station. She was illegally arrested and transferred to the Jin'an District Domestic Security Division. Division officers ransacked her home the next morning. Ms. Li's husband stopped them. Ms. Li is being subjected to interrogation at the Jin'an District Domestic Security Division during the day and is being held at the nearby detention center at night. Her daughter wanted to deliver clothes to Ms. Li, but the division officers refused to pass the clothes to Ms. Li.

2. [Nanle County, Henan Province] Mr. Zhang Wenbin and Ms. Shao Ziying Arrested, Ms. Zhang Xiuhua Detained

Mr. Zhang Wenbin and Ms. Shao Ziying were arrested on the evening of July 20, 2011, in Nanle by officers from the local Domestic Security Division. Mr. Zhang's wife, Ms. Zhang Xiuhua, and her older sister went to the Domestic Security Division the next day to demand Mr. Zhang's release. However, Ms. Zhang Xiuhua was detained and her car was impounded.

Ms. Xiang Li was arrested at home on the morning of July 21, 2011. Officers also ransacked her home.

4. [Yongji County, Jilin Province] Seven Practitioners and Ten Year-old Boy Held in Brainwashing Center

Yongji County 610 Office agents set up a brainwashing facility called the Xinxin Mountain Resort Brainwashing Center. Seven practitioners and a ten year-old boy are currently held there, including Mr. Chen Baixiang and Mr. Su Jingdong from Chaluhe Town, Ms. Huo Yanhua from Wanchang Town, Mr. Cao Hua from Laxi Town, Mr. Zhang Zhen from Xiyang Town, the ten year-old boy, and two practitioners from Kouqian Town. 610 Office agents beat one 50 year-old practitioner from Kouqian Town and deprived her of food for three days. Two people have been assigned to monitor each practitioner, and one person has been specifically assigned to monitor the boy.

Ms. Zhang Zhen's wife, Ms.Yu Xiuhua, is being held in the Yongji County Detention Center.

5. [Beijing] Mr. Cheng Yuxin Held in Brainwashing Center

Mr. Cheng Yuxin from Beijing was arrested at home on the morning of July 21, 2011, by officers from the Xicheng District 610 Office and the Dewai Neighborhood Office. They took him to the Changping Brainwashing Center.

Mr. Cheng was previously subjected to two years of forced labor in 2006 and suffered from severe pancreatitis as a result of the persecution.

6. [Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Huanying Arrested

Ms. Liu Huanying, who is a retired employee of the Changle Transport Company, was arrested around July 14, 2011, by Changle 610 Office agents.

7. [Yishui County, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Chenghua Subjected to Forced Labor--Others Harassed

Zhuge Town Police Station head Zhou Xiao and three others broke into Ms. Wang Chenghua's home in Dianzi Village on the morning of July 11, 2011. They arrested her and sent her to the Jinan Forced Labor Camp.

Zhuge Comprehensive Office head recently harassed Mr. Wang Peizhi, Mr. Li Zhaojun and two other practitioners at home, trying to force them to write guarantee statements to give up Falun Gong.

8. [Shandong Province] Ms. Li Yuping Detained at Brainwashing Center

Ms. Li Yuping, an employee at the Shengli Oil Field, was arrested on July 19, 2011, as she was distributing information to clarify the facts about Falun Gong on the street. She is currently detained in the Jishu Brainwashing Center at Shengli Oil Field.

9. [Chengde, Hebei Province] Ms. He Zengyin Detained at Brainwashing Center

Ms. He Zengyin was arrested and taken to the Chengde County Brainwashing Center on the morning of July 19, 2011.

10. [Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Deyi Arrested

Mr. Zhang Deyi from Qinhuangdao City was arrested by officers from the Northern Industrial District Police Station on the morning of July 23, 2011, as he spoke with people about Falun Gong near Beigang Town, Haiyang. He is currently detained at the Northern Industrial District Police Station.

11. [Ningde, Fujian Province] Ms. Chen Jia Arrested

Ms. Chen Jia from Ningde City was arrested at work on the afternoon of July 19, 2011. Li Wei from the Domestic Security Division and others ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, a CD burner and an MP5 player. Ms. Chen was sent to the Ningde City Detention Center that same night. She has not been released.

12. [Chongqing] Mr. Wang Hong Sentenced to Forced Labor

Mr. Wang Hong, 36, lives at No. 110 Renmin Street, Tangba Town, Tongnan County. Yuzhong District Court officials sentenced him to a four-year prison term on January 31, 2002. After his release, he was often harassed at home. Mr. Wang was then sentenced to one year of forced labor on June 3, 2011, and is currently held in the Xishanping Forced Labor Camp.

13. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhang Quancui Arrested

Ms. Zhang Quancui was arrested on the evening of July 21, 2011, by officers from the Xiejiawan Police Station.

14. [Mei County, Guangdong Province] Belated Information about the Persecution of Mr. Hong Dongqiang

Mr. Hong Dongqiang, who is in his twenties, is from Mei County. He was subjected to 18 months of forced labor in March 2001 in the Hewan Forced Labor Camp of Wuhan City. He was arrested again on July 19, 2004, while he was working part-time in Chongqong. Mr. Hong was sentenced to four years in prison and held in the Yongchuan Prison in Chongqing. No information about him has been received since.

15. [Guizhou Province] Mr. Hu Qingyu Persecuted for Reading the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party

Mr. Hu Qingyu, a Zunyi Medical College student, read the theNine Commentaries on the Communist Party on campus. School officials attempted to force him to write a guarantee statement, promising to give up practicing Falun Gong, and forbade him from going home on summer vacation, restricting his personal freedom.

16. [Huangmei County, Hubei Province] Ms. Mei Xiaohu and Four Others Held in Huangmei County Detention Center

Five practitioners – Ms. Mei Xiaohu, Ms. Zhang Maoying, Ms. Shen Jinying, Ms. Gan Xuerong, and Ms. Wang Meisheng from Caishan Town – were arrested on the afternoon of July 22, 2011, as they were speaking to people about Falun Gong in New Yimin Village, Caishan Town. Four officers from the Caishan Town Police Station made the arrest and took them to the police station. Police station head Cao Hong then transferred the five practitioners to the county's Domestic Security Division. The practitioners are currently held in the Huangmei County Detention Center. Officials extorted 550 yuan from their families for "living expenses" at the detention center before allowing them to visit the detained practitioners.

17. [Chongqing] Ms. Fu Chunfang Arrested

Ms. Fu Chunfang, in her forties, from Tongnan was arrested on the morning of July 22, 2011. Five plainclothes police officers and another police officer suddenly rushed to her on Zhengxing Street and made the arrest.

18. [Gaomi, Shandong Province] Mr. Qin Songfa and Ms. Xu Xiuzhen Tried by Gaomi City Court

Mr. Qin Songfa and Ms. Xu Xiuzhen, a couple, were put on trial at the Gaomi City Court on July 18, 2011.

19. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Mr. Feng Qingming Arrested

Mr. Feng Qingming was arrested on July 14, 2011. No other information is available at this time.

20. [Luotian, Hubei Province] Mr. Li Jianbing Detained at Brainwashing Center

Mr. Li Jianbing from Luotian was arrested at the entrance to his workplace around June 5, 2011, and later taken to the Hubei Brainwashing Center.

21. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhang Qirong Arrested at Home

Ms. Zhang Qirong lives in No. 1 Village, Daxi, Guojiatuo, Jiangbei District. Four officers from the Guojiatuo Police Station broke into her home at noon on July 19, 2011, arrested her, and took her to the Tieshanping Brainwashing Center in the Jiangbei District.

22. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhuang Yan Arrested in Shenzhen City

Mr. Zhuang Yan from Changchun City takes care of his father in Shenzhen. Officers from the Taoyuan Police Station in the Nanshan District arrested him and ransacked his home on the evening of July 19, 2011. He is currently detained in the Nanshan No. 1 Detention Center.

23. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Police Plan to Subject Mr. Sun Fu to Forced Labor

Mr. Sun Fu lives in Zhushan Village, Hongkeli Township, Yilan County. He was arrested at home on the afternoon of June 29, 2011. Agents from the Jiamusi City 610 Office and the Yilan County 610 Office made the arrest and took him to the Jiamusi City Detention Center. Jiamusi City Police Department officials plan to have him serve 18 months in the Suihua Forced Labor Camp.
