(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in ten provinces. In this report, five practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 14 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Additional Information on Mr. Liu Haibo's Death Due to Torture to Death after Broadcasting the Truth about Falun Gong

On March 5, 2002, Falun Gong practitioners in China's northeastern city of Changchun broadcast programs over China's state-run airwaves that exposed the systematic atrocities committed against Falun Gong practitioners and Jiang Zemin's attempts to cover them up. This incident produced fear at the highest levels of the regime and enraged Jiang Zemin, so he gave orders to "kill without pardon" those responsible for the broadcast.

Mr. Liu Haibo, born in 1970, was a doctor in the CT section of Luuyuan District Hospital, Changchun. Planning and preparation for the March 5 video broadcasting all took place in Mr. Liu's home. On March 11, 2002, officers from the criminal division of the Kuancheng District Police Bureau broke into Mr. Liu's home and arrested him and his wife and a male practitioner. They also confiscated five thousand yuan and the money found on Mr. Liu.

The three practitioners were taken to the criminal division in the police bureau. They were interrogated and tortured. The officers stripped Mr. Liu and handcuffed him on a tiger bench. They inserted a high voltage electric baton into Mr. Liu's anus to shock his internal organs. Mr. Liu was tortured until he died. The police secretly cremated his body without notifying his family. The police claimed that Mr. Liu died from heart disease.

Mr. Liu's wife, Ms. Hou, was sentenced to a three-year term in a forced labor camp. The couple's then-two-year-old son was turned over to their relatives.

3. [Hong'an County, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Caiying and Others Detained in Brainwashing Centers

Ms. Li Caiying was reported when she was talking to people about Falun Gong in June 2011. Police officers from the 610 Office of the Hong'an County Police Bureau arrested her and took her to a detention center. On June 18, 2011, she was transferred to a brainwashing center at the Chinese Communist Party Education School. That same day, the 610 Office took Ms. Liu Hengzhi to a brainwashing center, and on June19 they took her there again.

4. [Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Yang Fang Arrested

Ms. Yang Fang, in her 40s, is a teacher at Huanghailu Elementary School, Ganyu County. She was monitored and arrested on June 21, 2011, when she went to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home. Ms. Yang is currently in Ganyu Detention Center.

5. [Nanjing, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Yue Jinlan Detained

Ms. Yue Jinlan was arrested in April 2010 and sentenced to a one-year term to be served in the Jiangsu Provincial Women's Forced Labor Camp. At the end of her term, in April 2011, staff from the 610 Office ordered her to come to the office to pick up the money that her family had deposited into her labor camp account. When she arrived at the office, she was arrested again and taken to the Gulou Brainwashing Center. She has not yet been released.

6. [Feidong, Anhui Province] Ms. Li Cuiping Arrested

The local police station and personnel from the 610 Office arrested Ms. Li Cuiping at her home in Feidong at noon on June 23, 2011. She is now in Room 601 of the Vehicle Recovery Building, Fendong County Grain Bureau.

9. [Linli County, Hunan Province] Ms. Jin Xinchun Arrested

Ms. Jin Xinchun, who is retired from the Linli Radio and Television Bureau, received a phone call from her former employer on June 20, 2011, telling her to pick up her welfare check. Ms. Jin and her husband went to the bureau together. At the gate, four plainclothes police officers arrested them and took them to a brainwashing center located in the Babaili Shenji Hotel in Changde City.

10. [Kunming, Yunnan Province] Mr. Luo Minhu Arrested

Mr. Luo Minhu from Wuhua Exploration and Design Institution was reported when he was distributing truth clarification materials about Falun Gong at his workplace on June 22, 2011. Police officers from the Xishan District Domestic Security Division arrested him on June 23 and confiscated his computer, printer, and personnel items. Mr. Luo is now in the Xishan District Detention Center.

11. [Huaihua, Hunan Province] Ms. Teng Yun Detained

Police officers from the National Security, police bureau, and 610 Office arrested Ms. Teng Yun from the Hecheng District and ransacked her home on June 17, 2011. She is now in the Hecheng District Detention Center.

12. [Chongqing] Ms. Chen Shuying Arrested

Ms. Chen Shuying was reported for putting up posters about Falun Gong in a park on the afternoon of June 19, 2011. Officer Wu Yongdong and others arrested her and took her to the Domestic Security Division of the Yubei District Police Bureau. Officers Zhou Shengyong and Fu Guangyun interrogated her for more than three hours. Ms. Chen was taken to a hospital for a mandated physical exam and was diagnosed with high blood pressure. The police released her at 9 p.m.

13. [Dong wan, Guangdong] Liangping Police Station Arrested Ms. Yin Zhuandi and Ms. Ahua

Officers from the Liangping Police Station arrested Ms. Yin Zhuandi from Dongwan, Ms. Ahua from Jiangxi Province and a male practitioner from Sichuan Province on the morning of June 23, 2011, because they were talking to people about Falun Gong. They are now in the Liangping Police Station, Liaobu Town.

Recently, police officers from the Development District Domestic Security Division of Langfang arrested Ms. Zhu Limin.

15. [Chongqing] Mr. Deng Liang Persecuted after Six Years of Imprisonment

Mr. Deng Liang was arrested and imprisoned in 2004. He was released in June 2010. On the morning of June 22, 2011, Luu Xinlin from the General Management Office of Shiyoulu Street Administration in the Yuzhong District and officer Liu Wenhua from the Shiyoulu Police Station set out to pick up Mr. Deng from his home to take him to a brainwashing center but were unsuccessful.

16. [Jining, Shandong] Ms. Zhao Jing Taken to Jinan Brainwashing Center

A group of plainclothes police officers raided the Guhuai Houses Management Office and arrested Ms. Zhao Jing, 41, on June 16, 2011. They took her to the Jinan Brainwashing Center. Her family lost contact with her for two days and went to her workplace. Only then did they learn that Ms. Zhao had been arrested.

Ms. Zhao Jin has been arrested twice, and held for one and a half years in a forced labor camp.
