Mr. Cheng Guoxue's Son, Cheng Junfeng, Detained for 15 Days

Mr. Cheng Guoxue and his son, Cheng Junfeng, are both Falun Gong practitioners. At around 5:50 p.m. on April 25, a total of ten officers, including Li Wei and Zhao Qingmeng from the Xintaimen Town Police Station, and other officers from the police stations in Baimashi Village, Guzhuyingzi Village, and Xintaimen Town, blocked the main entrance to Cheng Guoxue’s home with two cars. A few officers later entered the yard trying to arrest Mr. Cheng. His son and daughter-in-law tried to distract the police so Mr. Cheng could escape through a window.

When the police failed to arrest Mr. Cheng, they arrested Mr. Cheng’s son and his daughter in-law. His daughter in-law was released that same night but Cheng Junfeng was taken to a detention center in Huludao City for 15 days in detention.

Sent to Forced Labor Camp after Detention

After 15 days in detention, on May 10, Cheng Junfeng’s mother and aunt went to pick him up from the detention center. The staff at the detention center lied to them and said that young Mr. Cheng had been sent back to Xitaimen Town. The women took a taxi back to Xintaimen Town but didn’t see Mr. Cheng. They returned to Lianshan District Public Security Sub-Bureau in Huludao City and saw him with police officers. His mother and aunt asked why the officials lied. The police lied again and said, “Yes, we were going back to Xintaimen Town but didn’t get the paperwork ready. Now we are ready to go.”

Mr. Cheng’s mother and aunt went to the Xintaimen Police Station and asked for Mr. Cheng. The police told them that he had been sent to Shenyang City but didn’t tell them where Mr. Cheng was.

Two days later, his family learned that Mr. Cheng Junfeng had been taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp and was sentenced to a term of one year, although no legal procedures were observed in the process. During the whole affair, officers from the detention center, the Lianshan District Public Security Sub-Bureau, and Xintaimen Town all lied to Mr. Cheng Junfeng’s family.

Police Harassed Cheng Junfeng’s Relatives Again

On May 17, officers from the Xintaimen Police Station harassed Mr. Cheng’s family again. They called his family and asked his mother to come to the police station to organize some materials. They then told her not to leave home.

Mr. Cheng Junfeng Previously Arrested Twice

Before this arrest, Mr. Cheng Junfeng was harassed many times and arrested twice because he would not give up his belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The first time he escaped. The second arrest was in March, 2004. He was detained in Jinzhou City Forced Labor Camp for more than two years.
