(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Pan Sujuan (潘素娟) from Zhejiang Province was sentenced to prison in Beijing. She was recently taken to the Zhejiang Province Women's Prison. Her son, who is only three years old, now lives with his invalid grandmother.
On July 24, 2009, Ms. Pan was reported for distributing Shen Yun DVDs at the Xiyuan Morning Market in Beijing. She was arrested by officers from the Haidian Police Station. Since she was still breastfeeding her son, the Haidian Police Sub-Bureau released her on bail pending trial for one year. They notified the police from Ms. Pan's hometown, the Wenling City Police Department, to escort her home and place her under surveillance.
On July 25, 2009, officers from the Qinglongqiao Police Station in the Haidian District deceived Ms. Pan's husband, Mr. Ran Fengyun (冉奉云), also a practitioner, into going to the Haidian Detention Center to bail Ms. Pan out. Mr. Ran was arrested immediately and eventually taken to Tumuji Forced Labor Camp in Inner Mongolia. The Law and Order Division of the Beijing Police Department sentenced him to serve a two-and-a-half-year term of forced labor.
On March 30, 2010, the Beijing Police Department sent officers to Wenling City to pick up Ms. Pan and bring to Beijing. She was then held in the Haidian Detention Center for one year and eight months.
On November 21, 2011, Ms. Pan was temporarily taken to Tianhe Prison in Beijing. One week later, on November 28, she was taken to the Zhejiang Province Women's Prison.
On October 25, 2011, Mr. Ran was returned to his hometown in Yunyang County, Chongqing, by the Yunyang County 610 Office. Mr. Ran is under surveillance by the sub-district office and the community committee. The authorities have ordered him to first get approval whenever he wishes to go out. He has also been threatened not to speak with people about Falun Gong or to get in touch with local practitioners.
