(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Tan Fenghao, a teacher at the Wanzhou District Foreign Language School in Chongqing has been arrested three times by the Chinese Communist Party's police because she is a Falun Gong practitioner. She was sentenced to four years of imprisonment. Another time, she was detained in a forced labor camp for two years.
It's only been one year since she was released from her most recent detention, and she is now being harassed again by persecutors from the 610 Office. According to some government officials, the the 610 Office has attempted to send her to a brainwashing center.
Details of the Persecution
Ms. Tan graduated from Southwestern Normal University with a Major in English in 1997 and became a teacher at the Wanzhou District Foreign Language School. She was first detained for one month by the Longbao Police Department, Wanzhou District in July and August of 2000.
Ms. Tan was again arrested by police officers, including Liu Xing and Peng Guitao from the Longxi Township Police Station, Yubei District, Chongqing in December 2000. Later, she was sentenced to four years of imprisonment by the Yubei District Court.
Ms. Tan was then arrested by police from the Shangqingsi Police Station, Yubei District in April 2008. She was sent to a forced labor camp for two years. During the interrogation of Ms. Tan, none of the police officers wanted to disclose their names. From their conversations, it was discovered that a male police officer's name was Ouyang Yucong, a female officer's name was Li Na, and another middle-aged male officer has the last name of Yan.
Moreover, Ms. Tan was dismissed from her work in 2002. After she was released from the forced labor camp in 2010, she left home and went to Chongqing to take temporary jobs.
Xie Fuyuan, a Section Chief from the Zhoujiaba Staff Office of the Wanzhou District called Ms. Tan's father in August 2011 and said that he wanted to visit Ms. Tan in Chongqing. Ms. Tan rejected the request. Later, Xie kept calling Ms. Tan's father, asking to visit her.
Ms. Tan called Xie in mid-September and asked why he wanted to visit her. Xie said that he was following orders from above and needed Ms. Tan to confirm her stand on her belief. Ms. Tan told Xie seriously that, according to the Constitution, citizens have freedom of belief and nobody has the right to ask her to confirm her stand on her belief. During the entire conversation, Ms. Tan heard a keyboard typing sound. She believes it was somebody typing a record of their conversation.
