Ms. Kong Hongyun from Hebei Province, Baoding City Arrested; Her Family Requests Her Release

October 17, 2011 |   By a Clearwisdom correspondent from Hebei Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Officials from the 610 office in Baoding City, Hebei Province recently gave orders to each police station to make it their priority to arrest Falun Gong practitioners. It has been reported that 24 practitioners have been arrested since September 25, 2011. Some were incarcerated in a detention center, others in a brainwashing center. Five were taken to forced labor camps.

At around 10:00 a.m. on September 19, Ms. Kong Hongyun from Baoding City had just returned home. Four plainclothes officers from the Xiantai Township police station in Gaoxin district barged into her house and ransacked it. They confiscated some Falun Gong books, arrested her and took her to the Xiantai Township government office. Afterward, they sent her to the Baoding City detention center

Ms. Kong’s thirteen-year-old daughter returned home after school to find her mother missing. With the help of a neighbor, she went to the Xinshichang police station to look for her mother. Police officers told her that they did not know anything. They then went to three other police stations and searched for her until midnight, but to no avail.

On September 20, the neighbor once again brought Ms. Kong’s daughter to the Xinshichang police station. Officers told them that Ms. Kong had been arrested by officials from the Xiantai Township police station. Her mother, who is in her seventies, rushed from another suburb and went to the Xiantai Township government office together with her granddaughter to demand the release of Ms. Kong. The personnel there stated that she was being held in the detention center.

On the morning of September 21, Ms. Kong’s mother and daughter went to the Xiantai Township government office and asked to see her. The government personnel rudely chased them out of the office.

The next morning, both grandma and granddaughter went to the Xiantai Township police station. Lu Hongwen, the police station head, claimed that Ms. Kong had been transferred to the Chaoyang police department in Gaoxin District.

The morning of September 23, both of them rushed to the Baoding detention center, where they had 300 yuan extorted from them before they were allowed to see Ms. Kong.

The following day, they went to the Xiantai Township police station and demanded Ms. Kong’s release. Lu Hongwen refused to accept any responsibility. They had no choice but to return home.

Ms. Kong used to work as a nurse. She has been persecuted many times. In March 2008, she was arrested by officers from the Yimian police station and sentenced to three years in prison. Within half a year of her release from prison, she was arrested again.
