(Clearwisdom.net) Fellow practitioners in my area have been talking about the issue of "benevolent solutions" lately, particularly with respect to practitioners who are struggling with the symptoms of illness. Many experience sharing articles have raised the issue of benevolent solutions over the last several years, as well.
Practitioners in my region usually treat interference by offering benevolent solutions. Sometimes, the situation improves to some extent, but usually it does not. Yet, there are still many practitioners who use benevolent solutions to handle everything, as if they have already reached an extremely high state of compassion.
However, as I understand it, many practitioners neglect to use righteous thoughts and righteous actions. They don't eliminate the evil, nor do they look within to find their own problems. Here are a few examples:
In one case, practitioner A's celestial eye is open. He claims that he has offered benevolent solutions to many persons and events that had predestined relationships with him in history. One time, when he was sending forth righteous thoughts to help another practitioner who was suffering from a serious illness, he saw a lot of evil beings trying to kill the other practitioner. He communicated with them through his mind-intent and asked them to stop their persecution in exchange for a benevolent solution. They refused. Although the other practitioner's illness had not completely gotten better, when he mentioned this event later, practitioner A still thought that he had done a great thing and felt proud of having fixed a problem by using benevolent solutions.
In another case, when fellow practitioner B was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong, she was brutally attacked by a villain and taken to the local police station where she was sent to 610 office. After practitioner B returned home, the local practitioners exchanged their thoughts about this in a group meeting. Several practitioners agreed that practitioner B should treat this bad event with a benevolent solution and continue to clarify the truth to the villain. But practitioner B's daughter, who is not a practitioner, went with her to the local police station and asked the police to file a case and punish the fiend. The mother argued with her daughter in the police station. She was worried that the villain would be fined and that this might affect the result of her benevolent solution, so she did not help the police find the attacker.
From the above cases, it seems as though my fellow local practitioners have not completely understood the responsibility that Dafa practitioners in the Fa-rectification period have, nor the importance of validating the Fa, and that they have misinterpreted the meaning of "benevolent solution."
Teacher has talked about the principles of benevolent solutions, but he never said that Dafa practitioners have the capability of giving a benevolent resolution. Teacher also did not say that everything can be treated with benevolent solutions.
Teacher said:
"By saying 'benevolent solutions,' I was referring to a way in which beings in the cosmos are assimilated to the Fa during the Fa-rectification. Some beings aren't worthy of a benevolent solution, in which case whatever should be done will be done." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Western U.S. Fa Conference. Li Hongzhi, February 28, 2004, in Los Angeles")
Teacher also said,
"Although I've said this, as long as you walk a righteous path I can actually give everything a benevolent resolution. I can make that extreme thinking become good for sure, and then I can make him not want his life back, since I can untie the knot in his mind with the Fa--I can do anything. But when you have attachments and can't let go, then it can't be untied and Master is put in a tough position." ("Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference". Li Hongzhi, the afternoon of February 15, 2003, in Los Angeles).
My understanding of the meaning of "benevolent solution" is that it should be done by Teacher, and it is the manifestation of Teacher's infinite wisdom and great mighty virtue. I also feel that when we clarify the truth, save sentient beings, or appeal to stop the persecution, it is not appropriate to use "benevolent solutions."
