(Clearwisdom.net) On January 13, 2010, Ms. Wang Hongmei and Ms. Chen Ping, both Falun Gong practitioners, were arrested by police from the National Security Group of the Shunqing District, Chongqing City. The arrest was ordered by the 610 Office and police department of the Shunqing District in Chongqing. The police ransacked their home, arrested them, and took them to the Huafeng Detention Center in Nanchong City, Sichuan Province. According to the latest information, they were arrested because they had planned to buy tickets for the Shen Yun performance that was to be held in Hong Kong on January 27.

Ms. Wang Hongmei obtained her PhD degree from the history department of Lanzhou University in Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, and is a lecturer on the faculty in the History and Culture Department of Xihua Normal University. Ms. Chen Ping, 34 years old, obtained her Master's Degree from the literature department of Xihua Normal University and is working as a teacher. They understand a great deal about Chinese culture. When they learned that the world renowned Shen Yun Performing Arts company would hold a show about the magnificence of Chinese traditional culture in Hong Kong on January 27, 2010 ,they immediately asked some of their friends to book tickets for them and were prepared to go see it.

Ms. Wang and Ms. Chen talked with their friends about booking their tickets over their mobile phone and on the Internet, but they never knew that they were being monitored by CCP agents. As a result, they were arrested.

As Falun Gong practitioners, Ms. Wang and Ms. Chen were always good to others, tried to consider others before themselves, and were diligent in their academic research. They were recognized as good teachers among their faculty members and students. They both have happy families and their husbands are also employed at the same university. Their arrests have caused their families extreme grief, especially of the part their young daughters, who are 8 and 4 years old.

We hereby call for help to rescue Ms. Wang and Ms. Chen so that they can return their homes and be reunited with their families.
