SUWON, South Korea- The second show of Shen Yun Performing Arts
concluded successfully in South Korea at the Gyeonggi Arts Center
Grand Theater on Thursday, February 18. Jeon Moo Song, a prominent
Korean TV actor, president of Gyeonggi provincial arts group and
university professor, watched the show as well. He said, "Before, I
was very curious to know what the heavenly world looks like. Today,
Shen Yun Performing Arts has shown me the scenes of the heavenly
realm."
Jeon described his many feelings about the show. "The show brought
me to many beautiful places in China. It also prompted me to
reconsider the teachings of Buddha. Through the performance, I saw
the realistic portrayal of how one can stand up amidst huge
adversities. The stage design is very exquisite. Although the show
is short, it has left my heart full of good memories. I think it
will be very difficult for me to forget today's show. I applaud
everything of Shen Yun."
Jeon explained why he felt the show would stick with him: "The
dance and music is sublime. At the same time, the items in the show
can inspire one's heart, the music open one's ears, the dance
movements open one's eyes. Together, these three aspects blend into
one to leave a lasting impression. I think Shen Yun is such a
perfect show."
Speaking more about how the show affected him, he said emotionally,
"The show also portrayed values of filial piety and brought all
these good virtues into my heart."
Finally, Jeon wished all the members of Shen Yun a successful tour.
"I hope every one of you will always have such healthy, bright
faces, and beautiful hearts. This is a lovely production that will
beautify people's hearts. I sincerely congratulate everyone in Shen
Yun on your performance in Suwon."
Dreamlike Beauty Draws the Impulse to Paint
Also attending the performance was South Korean painter, Park
Yong Jae. It was his second year seeing Shen Yun. He said with
emotion: "People from any country watching it would say, 'Ah. It is
truly beautiful like a dream!'"
Mr. Park is the president of Korea Hyundae Sketching Association.
He is also on the panel of judges for the Korean National
Exhibition of Fine Arts, and a member of the Korean National
Committee of International Association of Arts. He has had several
personal exhibits, and has won the Order of Service Merit-Yellow
Stripes awarded by the President of South Korea.
Mr. Kim Sun Won, a renowned South Korean calligraphist
The show was so beautiful that it made him want to pick up his
paintbrush. "Today when I was watching the show," he said, "I had
the impulse to paint quite a few times, or to shoot every scene so
that I can learn and try to present each move."
From watching Shen Yun, Mr. Park realized the principle that
justice will ultimately prevail. "Though we have an evil side as
humans, we have the peaceful and original philosophy of life that
one has the inherent right to maintain one's own right to life. I
think it is wrong to have evil groups ravaging these peaceful
people," referring to dances depicting the situation in present day
China.
In the end, Mr. Park said emotionally, "It would be great if many
artists can all come to enjoy this show. If it were not for the
long distance, I would really want to bring several students to
watch the show together tonight."
