Excruciatingly Painful Punishment at the Xishan Forced Labor Camp in Tonghua

Mr. Wang was subjected to two years of forced labor in 2001, at Xishan Forced Labor Camp. Camp head Zhang Ping and more than ten guards beat Mr. Wang, Gai Yongguang, and four other practitioners during the night of October 11, 2001. The abusers locked the practitioners in a confinement cell.

The five practitioners that night reminded Zhang Ping he shouldn't continuously persecute practitioners, and that several guards had beaten them, even an over 60 year-old practitioner. No one was able to escape the physical abuse. The beatings caused practitioners to lose control of their bowel movements. The violence lasted more than forty minutes. Three practitioners were confined in a small space. More than twenty practitioners went on a persecution protest hunger strike the next day, on October 12, 2001. Five practitioners remained on hunger strike until the end of October.

During their hunger strike, politics department head Mao Deshun shocked Mr. Wang and Bian Hongxiang again with an electric baton.

On the morning of December 4, 2001, guards Huang Shanwen and three others beat Mr. Wang under the direction of Mao Deshun, making his mouth bleed and his cheek swell. In the afternoon, after having consumed alcohol, Huang kicked Mr. Wang's throat and chest and shocked Mr. Wang, making his head bleed. Mr. Wang was so seriously hurt that they had to send him to a hospital for emergency care. Mr. Wang was subjected to abuse and torture in the camp like this for several months.

Once Mr. Wang was released, the police often went to his home to harass him, making it impossible for his family to live a normal life. Mr. Wang thus decided to go into exile.

Laozhan Police Station Agents Beat, Shock, Freeze and Scald Him

Mr. Wang returned home on February 5, 2005, two days ahead of the Chinese New Year, to have a look at his newborn grandson. Not long after he entered the home, police officer Li Jie, who stayed there to watch the family, noticed him. Deputy police head Wang Yongqin and others then rushed into Mr. Wang's house and followed Mr. Wang from the yard to the warehouse, beating him. The loud commotion scared the baby and made him cry. They then forcibly took away Mr. Wang, who was wearing only underwear.

Once Mr. Wang was at the police station, his family arrived and petitioned police to release him during the festival period, but they refused. Mr. Wang's family had to leave, and right after they left, police officers Sun Jiquan, Wang Yongqing, Li Jie, and the deputy head together shocked Mr. Wang's genitals so severely that he was unable to urinate normally. They then stripped Mr. Wang naked and exposed him to the freezing cold in the open air for quite a long time. They subsequently poured hot water on him from head to toe, saying they just wanted to warm him up. After that they poured cold water on his severely injured body, due to the cruel beatings. The abusers then again poured hot water on him, while he was virtually frozen. The severe injuries sustained from the beatings, electric shocks, and the freezing and scalding made Mr. Wang tremble. After the torture one police agent touched Mr. Wang and found him unconscious. They were afraid of taking responsibility and sent Mr. Wang to the No. 206 Hospital.

Mr. Wang's family looked for him the next day but had no idea where he was. They kept inquiring about his circumstances. The police answered, "Take it easy, he will gain weight here." But Mr. Wang's family felt anxious about him and kept inquiring as to his whereabouts. More than twenty days later they found Mr. Wang in a hospital ward in the No. 206 Hospital. There were no intact areas on his skin. The skin on the back of his head was even gone, and the flesh on his neck and back had rotted. The next day police and doctors in the hospital hid Mr. Wang, and his family lost contact with him again. The family urgently wanted to know Mr. Wang's circumstances. The police gave them 20,000 yuan as hush money, and threatened the family not to say anything about the incident. They also intimidated the family, indicating that if they spoke out that Mr. Wang's daughter would be arrested.

At the Changliu Detention Center

Realizing they did too many bad things to Mr. Wang, the police covertly locked up Mr. Wang at the Changliu Detention Center before he had recovered. His family, so worried because they had lost contact with him again, looked for their loved one everywhere. A month later they finally learned of Mr. Wang's whereabouts, and they sought permission from the police to see Mr. Wang. After repeated requests they were finally allowed to see him through a monitor.

Guards often beat Mr. Wang at the Changliu Detention Center. Once when Mr. Wang shouted, "Falun Dafa is good," guard Liu Jian kicked him twice, severely injuring his spleen. Mr. Wang hurt so much he lost consciousness, and since then never felt well again. When his family visited him he covered his stomach and pointed to guard Liu Jian saying, "He is the one who kicked me here (the upper left side of stomach) twice and made me like this. I have still not recovered." Mr. Wang then told his family he was tortured.

Dying Following Three Days of Torture While Imprisoned

A Tonghua City Court covertly sentenced Mr. Wang to prison for three and a half years, following six months of detention. Mr. Wang held a hunger strike for many days and was at the brink of death. Not caring, guards sent the half-dead Mr. Wang to Shiling Prison in Siping, Jilin Province on August 9, 2005. Mr. Wang died six days later.

As soon as they were given notice, the family hurried to the Shiling Prison. They found their loved one's body covered in old and new scars, and some places bleeding. They demanded to know what happened. The official answered, "Mr. Wang hurt himself on a window." The relatives yelled at the officials, "Ridiculous! Show us how someone can end up like this from getting hurt by a window!" The officials were unable to answer.

Following a stern conversation with the officials, Mr. Wang's family was compensated for nothing but transportation costs they incurred in going to the prison to visit Mr. Wang.
