Mayor of Baldwin, Florida: "It's Wonderful for Us to Have this Opportunity"

(Clearwisdom.net) Shen Yun Performing Arts gave the second of two performances at Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts in Jacksonville, Florida on January 31.

Mayor Stan Totman, Mayor of the City of Baldwin and President of the Northeast Florida League of Cities, was in attendance and loved the pageantry and cultural experienced. For most people in North Florida, the only chance they get to enjoy Chinese culture is when they visit Disney World or the Epcot. "It's wonderful for us to have this opportunity to enjoy this. It's like a great meal, ... it's all simplicity and it's beautiful. But when it's all put together, it's wonderful. I think Leonardo da Vinci said it best. He said, 'Simplicity is the best sophistication' and it's all sophisticated and beautiful and it's wonderful for the people of North Florida.

A Thousand People in Hong Kong Attend Rally and Parade: "Protect Shen Yun; Protect Hong Kong" (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On January 31, 2010, approximately one thousand people attended a parade and rally with the theme, "Protect Shen Yun; Protect Hong Kong," to protest the Hong Kong government's interference with the Shen Yun shows in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong government recently denied entry visas to seven key technical staff members of the New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts, forcing the cancellation of seven sold-out shows in Hong Kong.

(Clearwisdom.net) Citizens in Macao rallied in the center city on January 30, 2010 to protest the Hong Kong government's denial of visas to a number of Shen Yun Performing Arts' core production staff which resulted in Shen Yun having to cancel its seven shows in Hong Kong. The protesters asked the Hong Kong government to correct its mistake immediately and issue visas for the six production staff.
