(Clearwisdom.net) I became a coordinator after 2005 and a small Falun Dafa study group was established at my home. I agreed to be the coordinator for planning, preparing, and distributing information about Falun Dafa and the persecution. Given my newly found importance, I unconsciously developed a show-off mentality and a desire to validate myself. I daily prepared the materials and a list of activities for my fellow practitioners. I wanted to establish a larger, stronger group and expected everyone to support and participate in my planned activities. When fellow practitioners disagreed with or refused to participate in what I had planned, I did not look within for the cause. Instead, I thought they were selfish and lacked team spirit. Finally, many practitioners started to avoid me. In 2009 several of Master's lectures were published, including the "Fa Teaching Given at the NTDTV Meeting." I studied these lectures carefully, which helped me discover my shortcomings.
Actually, it does not matter if one is a practitioner or a coordinator, one has to give up one's ego and support the project at hand. Having arrived at this understanding, I let fellow practitioners handle most of the activities--with the exception of truth-clarifying materials--and I supported them in any way possible. As I changed, so did my fellow practitioners. They trust me now and ask me for help and coordination. Thus, I know I have reached the correct understanding.
Practitioner A from another city called me and asked if I would participate in their truth clarification activities. I noticed that their coordinator had a strong ego, so I decided to write articles with Practitioner A about how a coordinator should act. Some of the articles appeared on the Minghui/Clearwisdom websites. The articles pointed to certain problems and suggested that the coordinator change. One has to let go of human notions, as they obstruct positive results, or our approach becomes similar to that of the old forces.
Teacher said:
"When they're helping me, at the same time they hide their selfish intention of protecting themselves. They all want to change others but not themselves--no one wants to change himself--and they even try to preserve as much as possible the things they're attached to and won't let go of." ("Touring North America to Teach the Fa")
On July 24, 2010 a new lecture, "Be More Diligent," by Master was published. I studied it over and over again, hoping to find the relationship between a coordinator and forming one body. What should be the form of one body in China? When I went to the other city, I talked to Practitioner A about how to expose the evil. Although Practitioner A spoke to his coordinator several times, he was told that this particular activity was already taken care of. At the same time, the persecution of a practitioner was reported on Minghui/Clearwisdom, but without details, such as the names and addresses of the perpetrators.
Practitioner A and I spoke to a coordinator of a smaller group, and we agreed that more should be done to expose those persecuting Falun Dafa in our area. We believe exposing the evil is connected to validating the Fa.
Teacher said in the comment on a student's article:
"Exposing the wicked policemen and bad persons and publicizing their evil deeds is extremely effective at shocking and restraining those irrational, wicked people. At the same time, by clarifying the facts to the people on a local level it most directly exposes, and generates public awareness of, the wicked persecution. It is also a great way to save the people who have been poisoned and deceived by the lies. I hope all Dafa disciples and new students in Mainland China will do this well." (comments on "Expose the Evil Happening Locally to the Local People")
We decided to establish a small group that would expose the persecution in our area. We went to every village and town to gather first-hand information and then organized the information for publication on Minghui/Clearwisdom. At this time a fellow practitioner said, "You need to coordinate with the coordinator in that city, because we should form one body." I replied, "If all practitioners in a city form one body, shouldn't we say the same thing about all practitioners in a province? All practitioners in a village form one body and so do those in a town and those in a city or province. If so, we end up with many levels of one body."
I think there are two types of one body: one is tangible and the other is intangible. However, regardless of which type, it must operate in accordance with the Fa to qualify as one body.
I will try to explain through two examples what I see as being one or not being one body.
Example 1: In the Spring of 2010 a practitioner in Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province, was arrested while distributing informational materials. Some practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts, and others published the police officers' names and actions on Minghui/Clearwisdom. They each worked as individuals on this task, while the coordinator worked on arranging what was needed. Through the efforts of family members and the secretary of the village, this practitioner returned home. A police officer said to the secretary, "You have helped these practitioners. I am sure you can ask them not to make more calls. These practitioners are well organized. Shortly after we arrested the guy, we received many calls from them day and night." In this case, practitioners worked as one body, including collecting the phone numbers, providing information, and making calls to police officers involved in the case. Everyone supported the practitioner's family who demanded his release. They worked as one body and each completed a task that complemented what the others did and were in accordance with the Fa.
Example 2: In 2008 there were illegal court hearings held in two different cities. Several hundred practitioners went to the courts to send forth righteous thoughts. As a result, dozens of practitioners were arrested and persecuted. How come such a large number of practitioners couldn't disintegrate the evil by sending righteous thoughts? In my opinion, there was a one body on the surface, but not all the practitioners acted in accordance with the Fa. Many practitioners were just following the crowd instead of doing something on their own.
