Clarifying the Facts on Matsu Island

Greetings Revered Master! Fellow practitioners!

I joined the Divine Land Marching Band two years ago and have traveled to many parts of the world to spread the Fa, clarify the truth and save sentient beings.

Four years ago, I went to Matsu to introduce Falun Dafa to the people. Many residents there conduct business with communist China and didn't want their business to be affected.

On the first day of my arrival in Matsu, I noticed how strong of an influence the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) had on a close friend of mine. When I invited her to attend an art exhibition that showcased original works of Falun Gong practitioners, she avoided my invitation and tried to talk about something else. She explained to me that most people in Matsu try to avoid having any contact with practitioners or those who wore shirts with the words "Falun Dafa" printed on them. This was because they feared getting photographed with practitioners by the CCP's undercover agents. In other words, they didn't want to antagonize the CCP for fear of hurting their business ties with the mainland. Another high-level, government worker I knew also tried avoiding me. Even though he is a well-educated person, he wasn't able to see the wickedness of Chinese communist regime. While I found the situation regrettable, I reminded myself that I should have more righteous thoughts and compassion, and focus on saving these people.

That evening, I thought about taking an appropriate action and not wait for the group decision. However, I didn't have any plan. I noticed that our coordinator and local Matsu practitioners had different understandings on how to handle the art exhibition. I told everyone that the coordinator is also a practitioner and can't please everyone. If all of us cooperate well, Master would be able to help us.

The following morning after doing the Falun Gong exercises, I had an idea to try to contact influential people in the art community. As practitioners, we should tell them the truth about Dafa and let them come see the art exhibition. Once they understood the facts, they would make positive statements to the local community and this would be helpful to save sentient beings.

I asked a fellow practitioner to help me. We gathered several names and contacted them, but to no avail. The other practitioner insisted that we not give up and continued making phone calls. We were able to finally get hold of a person who is well-known in the local art community and had served as a representative in the government. We visited him at his home and invited him to the art exhibition. During our visit, a painter who just recently got back from France also arrived at the person's home. All four of us had a good two-hour discussion and they expressed their appreciation about what practitioners were trying to do.

That afternoon, they came to see the exhibition. They also brought along another person who was formerly a county council member and was the head of a communications network. A fellow practitioner guided them through the art exhibition and all three were full of praise for the quality of the art works. Before they left, they expressed their appreciation of what we were doing and said, "The persecution of Falun Gong will fail and the Chinese Communist Party will perish."

After this experience, I felt more encouraged to continue with contacting as many influential people as possible. Some people felt that they were not in a position to speak out, but they would help in other ways. When we weren't able to contact some people, we gave our regards and invitations to them through their family members. I decided to continue to clarify the facts to these contacts after returning to Taiwan. I believe we did the right thing and all predestined individuals had heard what they should from us.

Every time when I go out to introduce Dafa, I feel Master's compassion, the greatness of the Fa, and the selfless support from fellow practitioners. On my way back to Taiwan, I realized several of my shortcomings. One problem is my fear of speaking up when I should. Although a practitioner doesn't seek or become attached to fame, I was not willing to take responsibility due to fear. When I have a different idea from others, I avoid sharing it for fear of conflict. Clearly, I lack compassion and wisdom and should learn how to express myself more with compassion.

Thank you Master! Thank you fellow practitioners!
