(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 21 cities or counties in 11 provinces. In this report, 37 Falun Dafa practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 44 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Shumei Illegally Arrested
Ms. Wang Shumei is a resident of Dongling District, Shenyang City. On August 13, 2009, she was arrested by officers from the Dongling District Police Station and her home ransacked. She is detained in the Dongling Public Security Sub-Bureau.
2. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Mr. Liu Wei and Ms. Wang Liyan Detained
Five practitioners from Tonghua City were arrested by officers from the Jiantoudao Police Station on the evening of July 24, 2009. Three of the practitioners were detained in the Jiantoudao Detention Center, while Mr. Liu and Ms. Wang were taken to the Liuhe Police Station.
3. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cui Xueqin and Ms. Li Daling Detained
Ms. Cui Xueqin and her daughter Ms. Li Daling live in Jinzhou City. On August 12, 2009, they were arrested by local police and detained in the Jinzhou Detention Center.
4. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Shuyun Detained
Ms. Yang Shuyun lives in Wangyingkuang Beishan , Fuxin City. She was arrested by officers from the Haizhou Public Security Sub-Bureau, Fuxin City and Xitie Police Station while she was clarifying the facts about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Xindi Detention Center, Fuxin City where she has been detained for nine days already.
5. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Ying Arrested
On the morning of August 9, 2009, police arrested Ms. Zhang Ying and took her to the Fushun Brainwashing Center.
6. [Huadian City, Jilin Province] More Than Ten Practitioners Were Arrested by the 610 Office and Officers from Local Police Stations
At around 3:00 a.m. on the morning of August 12, 2009, local police stations cooperated with each other to arrest more than ten practitioners. Ms. Zhao Haiying was arrested by officers from the Xinhua Police Station, Ms. Han Li, Mr. Xu Yanjun were arrested by officers from the Minghua Police Station and Mr. Guo Xuzhe was arrested by officers from the Yongji Police Station.
7. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Yan Wenbo and Ms. Zhang Guixian Arrested
On the morning of August 12, 2009, when visiting a friend in Hailaer City, Mr. Yan and his wife Ms. Zhang, residents of Harbin City, were arrested by officers from the Hailaer Public Security Sub-bureau.
8. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Changping Arrested
On July 15, 2009, when Mr. Liu was driving a rental taxi-car, he was arrested and detained by officers from the Taihe Public Security Sub-Bureau and the Nuerhe Police Station. At around 12:20 a.m. on July 16, 2009, officers from Nuerhe Police Station dragged him into a police car and drove him to the Yi County Detention Center. On August 12, 2009, he was taken to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp by officer Wang Yongqiang and other officers from the Nuerhe Police Station.

9. [Beijing] Ms. Li Shufang Arrested
Ms. Li lives in Xiangying Village, Beijing. In the afternoon of August 9, 2009, Wang Jiyong and other officers from the Jiuxian Police Station, Yanqing County, Beijing City arrested her.
On July 21, 2009, Ms. Geng Huimei was arrested by officers from the Jiuxian Police Station, Yanqing County, Beijing City on July 21, 2009. She is detained in the Chaoyang District Detention Center, Beijing City.

10. [Liangshan County, Shandong Province] Nineteen Practitioners Arrested by 610 Office and Public Security
At around 8:00 p.m. on the evening of August 12, 2009, staff from the 610 Office in Liangshan County and officers from the Jiuxian and Jining City Police Stations drove ten vehicles to the Dushan Village, Liangshan County to Mr. Wang Youfu's home. They broke into Mr. Wang's home and arrested nineteen practitioners. Police interrogated them until midnight and their homes were ransacked.

11. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Shuling Arrested
Ms. Liu, in her fifties, is a resident in Xixiasikou Town. She was forced to become destitute and homeless for many years to escape being persecuted. She worked odd jobs in Yantai City to support herself. In August of 2009, police spotted and tailed her. On August 4, 2009, she was arrested by staff from the Xixia 610 Office and officers from the Sikou Town Police Station. She is detained in the Xixia Detention Center.
12. [Wucheng County, Shandong Province] Mr. Han Jiafei and Three Others Sentenced to Forced Labor
At around 8 o'clock in the morning on August 12, 2009, officers from the Wuchen County Police Station arrested Mr. Han Jiafei and Mr. Cui Junchen. They were taken to the Zibo Forced Labor Camp in Shandong. Mr. Han was sentenced to a two-year prison term and Mr. Cui to an eighteen-month term. Mr. Cui's daughter, Ms. Cui Linyan was sentenced to a fifteen month prison term to be served at the Jinan Forced Labor Camp.
At present, there are at least thirteen practitioners from Wuchen County imprisoned in the Shandong First Women Forced Labor Camp. They are: Ms. Li Xiuyun, Ms. Liu Bingqin, Ms. Du Guihong, Ms. Liu Jifen, Ms. Liu Lanju, Ms. Chen Honghui, (Mr. Cui Junchen's wife) Ms. Zhang Xiuling, Ms. Zhang Liuyun, Ms. Han Jiaping, Ms. Liu Guizhi, Ms. Yuan Weifang and others.

13. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Li Qun Arrested and Detained in Brainwashing Center
Ms. Li is from Nanjing City. She was arrested by the 610 Office and officers from the local police station when she was shopping in a morning food market. Police broke into her home and ransacked it. She is held in a brainwashing center.
Ms. Li Qun a young teacher who formerly taught at the People's Liberation Army University of Science and Technology Communication Engineering Institute. She once submitted a written statement to petition for Falun Gong to her employer, but the People's Liberation Army. They took her to the military mental hospital where she was tortured. Then she was taken to a forced labor camp. After her release, she was fired by her employer for not renouncing Falun Gong.
14. [Yi County, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Jinfeng and Ms. Guo Arrested
Ms. Li, in her mid-fifties, is a resident of Beijiean Village, Tanghu Town, Yi County. At around 11 a.m on August 12, 2009, Ms. Li and Ms.Guo (in her sixties) were arrested by officers from the Yi County District Police Bureau and the Tanghu Town Police Station.

15. [Kunshan, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Liu Huizhen Arrested
At around 2:00 o'clock on the afternoon of August 11, 2009, Ms. Liu was arrested in her home by the Kunshan 610 Office. Her house was ransacked and police confiscated a Zhuan Falun book. Approximately 8 p.m that night, her husband and their children went to the Kunshan Police Station and asked for Ms. Liu's release. After her family members argued with the police for more than two hours, the police released her.
16. [Huangchuan County, Henan Province] Ms. Liu Guilian Arrested
At around 9 a.m on August 7, 2009, officers from the Huangchuan County District Police Station arrested Ms. Liu Guilian. Police locked the building front door and arrested her when she was leaving to do grocery shopping. Police ransacked her place and confiscated a computer that belonged to her husband and other personal belongings. Her whereabouts are unknown.

17. [Luohe City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Lingxia Still Detained
Ms. Wang, in her fifties, is a retired disabled worker (her lower left arm is an artificial limb) from the Luohe City Paper Mill. She was arrested by local police on the eve of the Olympic Games. She is detained in the Luohe City Detention Center. Ms. Wang has been arrested many times before for practice Falun Gong and for distributing truth clarification materials.
18. [Huize County, Yunnan Province] Mr. He Jiahua Sentenced
Mr. He Jiahua, in his upper thirties was sentenced to a one year prison term.
19. [Xingning City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Luo Lizhen and Others Arrested
Ms. Luo Lizhen, Ms. Wu Fangping and Ms. Liu Xiaoying are residents of Xingcheng Town, Xingning City. On July 24, 2009, they were arrested by the Luofu Town Police and held in the Xingning Detention Center.

20. [Jingmen City, Hubei Province] Ms. Cui Ronghua, Ms. Wang Yunying and Mr. Liu Deyu Arrested
On the morning of August 6, 2009, Ms. Cui, in her sixties, was arrested by officers from the Dayukou East District Police Station. On the second day, Ms. Wang, also in her sixties, was arrested by the same police. On August 7, 2009, they were transferred to the Huyaguan Qianfodong Police Station in Jingmen City.
Mr. Liu Deyu, in her fifties, works for the Qujingmen Epidemic-prevention Center, in Jingmen City. He is detained at the Huyaguan Qianfodong Police Station in Jingmen City.

21. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Yingkai Arrested
Ms. Li works for the Dongqi Technology Center, in Shiyan City. At around 8 a.m on the morning of August 10, 2009, when she was working in her office, her work unit's security guards, led by a person with a last name of Hu, arrested her. Later that day, the security guards ransacked her home, confiscated all the materials used for truth clarification, Falun Dafa books, a computer and 20,000 yuan, which was a gift from her children. She is held in the Zhangwan Sub-bureau.
22. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhou Mingli Arrested
Ms. Zhou close to 60 years old, originally from Hunan Province, now lives in the Changshoushe Urban District, Hanzhong Street, Qiaokou District, Wuhan City. At around 5:00 p.m. on August 13, 2009, while she was posting truth clarification materials, she was reported and arrested by officers from the Hanzhong Street Police Station. She had been arrested and taken to a forced labor camp twice in the past. Her aging husband was alone at home without anyone to take care of him.
