(Clearwisdom.net) On the evening of August 26, 2009, Shen Yun Performing Arts of New York performed at the Kennedy Center Opera House in the nation's capital. The show was welcomed by people from various walks of life and received enthusiastic reviews.
Among the audience was Chau Ha, a Vietnamese musician who was also a singer for 50 years. He commented that he had never heard Asian singers like in this show before. He was very taken by the beautiful voices and found them to be strong, full of volume and great techniques. He was full of admiration for them. Regarding Hong Min, he said: "The Kennedy Center is not big enough for him," referring to his powerful voice.
Chau Ha also was very impressed with the dancers and mentioned that he could feel the art and the music, and felt that they were very professional.

When they were asked where they heard about this show, the husband mentioned that he had heard about it a long time ago and had never seen this kind of show before. He stated: "This is the first time we watched this show, we feel quite good. From the professional level, the dance movements, all aspects are good. It covers everything."
He also stated that the show represents 5000 years of traditional Chinese culture and that everything was very moving and emotional, and that Chinese culture is very pure.
When the reporter asked his wife what her impression of the performance was, she replied: "I like the ladies' dances, they have beautiful movements. It is very classical, very rare to see something of this quality. It is so beautiful, and the movements are very light."
The husband also mentioned that they never watched a show like this in China, having left China 10 years ago.
The wife mentioned: "I do not have too much knowledge about the ancient culture, but having watched the show, I felt my heart open up, and had a very light feeling. A bright feeling, it seems to be excited, a very bright, very cheerful feeling." The rest of the family agreed with her statement and since they only had seen the first part, everyone was looking forward to the second half of the show.
When the reporter asked if they thought that Westerners would understand the show, they stated that maybe they may not understand some of the background such as in the program "Heaven Awaits us Despite Persecution." They replied that the Chinese people know what is going on, but they may not be aware of this background information.
Six shows will be held at the Washington D.C. Kennedy Center Opera House from August 26 to 30.
