(Clearwisdom.net) When we took a break after distributing truth-clarification materials today, several other practitioners and I discussed the states of mind we had as we carried out our activities. When we maintained a pure and peaceful mind, for example, we were able to restrict our human notions and calmly maintain our righteous thoughts while we displayed our Dafa banners or distributed informational materials. We felt that this made our field very tranquil and that this kind of pure and righteous energy could restrict and eventually disintegrate the evil human thoughts of the Chinese tourists surrounding us.

When selfish or distracting thoughts interfered with us, however, our field was not clean, pure, or stable. The tourists were able to detect this, and they responded by criticizing us, refusing to look at our materials, using foul language, or even hitting us, which created karma for them.

When clarifying the truth, therefore, it is necessary to focus on the goal of truly saving people at every level. A human is very weak on the surface, but under the positive influence of our righteous thoughts, the knowing side of human nature can emerge, and the primordial spirit will be able to understand everything. Our state of mind plays a critical role.

When our minds are impure and unrighteous, however, we invite interference from evil forces, which leads sentient beings to commit crimes against Dafa. In these circumstances, if an ordinary person or tourist starts to argue with us, we can remain silent with smiles on our faces, send forth righteous thoughts, and refrain from arguing. Other tourists will observe how we react--if we appear ready to fight and argue with unfriendly or impatient attitudes, our words will not be effective. Other tourists will also react negatively to the unrighteous elements. Consequently, we will not achieve our original goal of saving people.

When we clarify the truth or advise people to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations, we should not pursue quantity or results. There was a time when some fellow practitioners did this. They would just go through the motions, and all they cared about was whether or not a person quit. They did not talk about the goodness and beauty of Falun Dafa or the wickedness of the CCP. A person listening to such a practitioner might also go through the motions of nodding, and the practitioner would then write the person's name on a list. This kind of approach does not clarify the truth clearly; it pursues quantity and can indicate a mentality of showing off or validating oneself.

When we clarify the truth in our daily lives, we sometimes have selfish or distracting thoughts that we are not aware of. But Teacher will use different means to give us hints. We might encounter trouble or interference easily when we are feeling good about ourselves, not realizing that it is the result of strong attachments. In another dimension, these attachments are manifesting themselves as black substances, which gradually surround us and isolate us from the characteristics of the universe. Because we have a knowing side, we can sometimes sense this. It feels as if a hat is covering our heads, and our thoughts are muddy, irrational, and unclear.

When I was in China, I distributed truth-clarification materials in a small apartment complex. I would usually send forth righteous thoughts before I started, and I felt that my mind was clear. One time, however, I did not send forth righteous thoughts. As soon as I entered the complex, the doorkeeper suspected that I had done something wrong upstairs. She questioned me for a long time before she let me go. After this experience, if I felt that my state or xinxing was poor when I was clarifying the truth, I would slow down and adjust my state of mind so that I could save sentient beings with a pure mind. As a result, people were more willing to take truth-clarification materials from me, and the old forces' elements had no effect.

These are just my personal opinions. Fellow practitioners, please correct me if there is anything improper.
