The Persecution of Liu Yongfen and Her Family in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province

July 05, 2009 |

(Clearwisdom.net) Practitioner Liu Yongfen and her family live in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province. They have been arrested and jailed several times because of their belief in Falun Dafa. Among the family of four, one has died, one is forced to stay away from home, one was released for medical treatment, and the fourth is still in prison.

Ms. Liu, 59, was previously an employee of the Xiangdong Iron Mine in Chaling County. Her husband, Liu Ying'e, suffered from late stage prostate cancer. After he began cultivating in Dafa, his cancer was healed and his health improved greatly. The relationship between Ms. Liu and her husband used to be very bad. They quarreled and fought a lot, and were infamous for their acrimonious relationship. After they began cultivation, they both followed Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and became good people. They looked inward when conflicts arose and never fought again. The family became harmonious and happy.

After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began its persecution of Falun Dafa on July 20, 1999, Ms. Liu's family was persecuted by CCP agents at different levels. In the past ten years, Ms. Liu has been in prison or a detention center for over seven years. Her husband was forced to give up cultivation against his will, and passed away when his old illnesses returned.

Ms. Liu's older daughter, Liu Chunqin, worked at the Hengyang City Steel Rolling Factory. She was arrested five times by CCP agents and imprisoned for a total of six years. She was jailed for eight months from December 2000 through August 2001, imprisoned for four years from September 2002 to September 2006, and put in a forced labor camp for one year between November 2006 and December 2007. After she was released and went home, the CCP kept harassing her and she was forced to stay away from home in order to avoid ongoing persecution.

Ms. Liu's younger daughter, Liu Xueqin, worked at the Commerce Bank in Zhuzhou City. She was arrested and jailed five times and put in a forced labor camp twice. Her company laid her off. She was jailed for half a month in December 2000, put in a forced labor camp for fifteen months from April 2005 to July 2006, with a three-month extension at the end of the term. She has been put in a forced labor camp again starting in 2007.

Ms. Liu had suffered from thyroid problems and fibrosis, but both were healed after she began cultivating in Dafa. She was arrested many times, sentenced to prison once, and put in a forced labor camp twice. She was sentenced to four years in prison from December 2000 to December 2004, put in a forced labor camp for two years between May 2005 and January 2007, and put in the forced labor camp a second time in September 2007. That time, using adjusting the retirement premium as a pretext, the 610 Office director at her company tricked her into going to the company. They arrested her with the help of the national security police and took her to the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp.

In April 2009, because of the extensive persecution during her detention, Ms. Liu lost all sensation in her lower limbs. The Baimalong Forced Labor Camp was compelled to release her to seek medical treatment. The CCP personnel in her company, with the support of the Chaling County "610" police, demanded that she report to them by phone every few days, and deducted part of her retirement pension. When Ms. Liu went home to take care of her paralyzed mother-in-law, the county 610 Office agents immediately notified the local 610 Office. Li Yongsheng, the head of Zixing City 610 Office, leading three other people, rushed into her relatives' home. They threatened and verbally abused her to get her to pledge not to leave her home. They attempted to ransack the house, destroy books, and arrest Ms. Liu. However, her relatives came home and prevented them from doing so.
