(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces. In this report, 8 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 8 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Hongpu and Mr. Cui Jiafeng Arrested
On June 1, 2009, officials from the local 610 Office arrested Mr. Liu Hongpu and Mr. Cui Jiafeng, practitioners from the Liaohe Petroleum Company in Panjin City, and took them to the Fushun Luotai Village Brainwashing Center.
2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Liu Zhanjun Detained in Happiness Detention Center
Mr. Liu Zhanjun, a practitioner employed at the Harbin Power Equipment Factory, is now detained in the Happiness Detention Center. It is rumored that he will be secretly sentenced soon.
3. [Shanghai] Ms. Ding Arrested
On May 21, 2009, officers from Nanxiang Police Station arrested Ms. Ding, a practitioner from Nanxiang, Jiading District, Shanghai. Her whereabouts is unknown.
4. [Shanghai] Ms. Wang Zhen Arrested
Ms. Wang Zhen, a practitioner who works in a community college in Jing'an District, Shanghai City, was arrested.
5. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhong Arrested
On June 1, 2009, police from Shanghai arrested Ms. Zhong, about 60, a practitioner from Changchun City.
6. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Eight-year Prison Terms
Mr. Wang Hongzhao, Ms. Cui Yuezhi, and Ms. Zhang Qiaohuan, practitioners from Guanxian County, Shandong Province, were sentenced to eight-year prison terms and sent to Jinan Prison.
7. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gou Yurong Arrested
On the morning of June 5, 2009, police arrested Ms. Gou Yurong, 67, a practitioner from Zhongzipo Community, Zibo City, when she was taking her granddaughter to a kindergarten. The police grabbed Ms. Gou's house key, ransacked her home, and confiscated her computer and printer.
8. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Li Arrested
About 10:00 p.m. on June 12, 2009, police on patrol arrested Ms. Li Li and another practitioner while they were distributing materials explaining the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong near Tongtian Market. Later, the police ransacked their homes and confiscated printers, copy machines, DVDs, truth-clarifying materials, and a computer. These two practitioners are now in the Cangxian County Detention Center.
9. [Baoding, Hebei Province] Mr. Huang Baocang Arrested
At 1:00 a.m. on June 16, 2008, Wang Wenbin, deputy director of Xushui County Domestic Security Division, and several officials arrested Mr. Huang Baochang, a practitioner from Baoding City. Mr. Huang was sentenced to one year of forced labor and family visits are not allowed.
10. [Miquan City, Xinjiang Autonomous Region] Ms. Wang Yinhuan Sentenced to a Seven-year Prison Term
Ms. Wang Yinhuan, 44, a practitioner from Miquan City, was reported to police because she produced and distributed materials detailing the persecution of Falun Gong. In March, 2008, local police arrested her. She was sentenced to a seven-year prison term and is now in Wulumuqi Prison.
11. [Chongqing] Ms. Liu Xiangxin Sentenced to One-year of Forced Labor
On May 30, 2009, officers from Jiugongmiao Police Station in the Dadukou District arrested Ms. Liu Xiangxi, a practitioner from the Dadukou District, Chongqing. Later. they took her to a detention center. She was sentenced to one year of forced labor. On June 11, 2009, she was taken to Chongqing City Women's Forced Labor Camp.
12. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xiang Sufen Arrested and Her Home Ransacked
On June 11, 2009, police arrested Ms. Xiang Sufen, a practitioner from Chengdu City, and ransacked her home.
13. [Chongqing] Additional News about the Persecution of Ms. Xu Mingjin
On May 22, 2009, local police arrested Ms. Xu Mingjin, 60, a practitioner from the Beibei District, Chongqing City, when she was "clarifying the facts" about the persecution of Falun Gong. Ms. Xu is now in the Beibei Detention Center. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and some personal belongings.
