(Clearwisdom.net) Shen Yun Performing Arts 2009 World Tour's final night in Sydney received resounding applause and lavish praise from appreciative theatregoers.

Ms. Rimbout, an Indonesian business investor and part owner of a newspaper, highly praised the show after seeing it for the first time. "The costumes are beautiful, the dancing is elegant--very well choreographed. It is entertaining, colourful, [and] it has a spiritual meaning."

She explained that her heritage was Chinese and there were many elements of Shen Yun's performance that were familiar to her. The traditional stories were also familiar to her. "I knew every one. I am enjoying them because they have a spiritual meaning, and I am spiritual."

Ms. Rimbout said that it is important for Westerners to see Shen Yun "because it is something they have never seen before."

"I Can Dream of This, and It Will Keep Me Alive!"

When Ms. Kevgas saw the show at Sydney's Parade on Sunday, it was a revelation. "Very, very fantastic. Thank God I am alive! I see such a picture, because when I close my eyes ... I can dream of this [Shen Yun], and it [will] keep me alive."

Ms. Kevgas is originally from Greece, and has run a successful import business for many years. She said, "It impressed me, the expression of those people. You can feel them smiling. I was very close, right in the front and you can see the expression, and straight away you feel like what they do, they do to please you from their hearts!"

She highly recommended seeing Shen Yun to others. "It is very important because it makes you a different person when watching things like this."

Shen Yun Exudes Excellence

Vic said that he grew up under communist rule in Europe and "detested it." He said, "I support this culture, and I support Falun Gong. I am so sorry about what is happening to members of Falun Gong in China. Of course, in the free world, we can say what we like, do what we like, and practice what we like, as long as it does not hurt our fellow humans. It is not the same in every part of the world and China is one example."

Vic said that because he is an engineer, he enjoyed the technical aspects of Shen Yun's performances. "I enjoyed the backdrop scene and how they interfaced that with what was going on [onstage]. I have never seen such high quality and the latest ways of using modern technology to present classical art. It is unique, and I am still recovering from the shock. I am impressed with the way everything exudes excellence. The standard of performing is superb, and I wish to have such a group [permanently] in Sydney and not just every now and again."

He said he highly recommends seeing Shen Yun, "I am serious, you must see this."

"We Need to Infuse Modern Life with Traditional Things"

Mr. Jeha said the spiritual side to human nature is essential and should be put first. "Not what is happening in the world around us, but [we need] to think of eternal life."

The entire show made a deep impression on him. "[There is] the dynamism of the male dancers. They're very dynamic. Then, you've got the incredible beauty of the female dancers and the costumes."

Mr. Jeha added that the backdrop "is quite amazing. It's sort of a combination of the ancient with the modern technology, which is what we need. We need to infuse modern life with traditional things. We have technology that is always changing and upgrading so we have to infuse it with the deep roots of having a soul and a valuable life."

"Ancient History Was Enacted by the Dancers' Movements"

Mr. Shelotopulous, owner of a boarding house, used to own a Greek theatre company. He was moved by the performance. "The dancers' movements have very great meaning ... I think this belongs to ancient history--ancient history was enacted by the dancers' movements ... dancing, music, the life of the people in China."

Mr. Shelotopulous said, "I think people have to come more. ... It's the first time I saw this in 44 years, this kind of performance. We have two hundred nations and China is one quarter of the earth--people must see [the show]!"

Garry, owner of a finance company, said, "I love the show. It's great! I love the little family, the dance with the family ["Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution"]. That was very touching. I love the drums, the drums are good. It was very emotional. I almost cried."

Another audience member added, "I think it was very good. It's a very rich culture generally, and I think [China] has gone through many difficult times recently, but it's very beautiful to see some of the great aspects of the beauty of the dances. The beautiful flower story [The Udumbara's Bloom]--you could really feel the heart and spirit of the beauty of the women, the beauty of life coming from that ... it was very nice to see."

Good Will Prevail

Mr. Jostone, a chartered accountant, had been looking forward to seeing the show. "It's colourful and exciting. I've enjoyed it a lot. It's showing an awful lot of culture."

Mr. Jostone and his friend

He said, "I know a little bit of Chinese history ... the Monkey King and the hair that he splits and creates 12 others and has two other likenesses to himself, so I know a bit of the history. It was a great performance."

The message that he got from the show was "that good will prevail," adding that he thought "that's a good message." Reflecting on the performance, "Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution," he said, "I felt very sad for the child and family who encountered terrible times, such oppression. The message is that there's good coming out of it at the other end, which is good."
