(Clearwisdom.net) As Shen Yun Performing Arts 2009 World Tour graces the stage at Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, British Columbia, this highly acclaimed show continues to gain new fans. Among them is Mr. Florian, who owns a Toronto-based business specializing in education for overseas students. He was impressed with Shen Yun and its portrayal of traditional Chinese culture.
He said, "It's a terrific exposure to the Chinese culture. I think it is an amazing performance that shows the many different cultures that China is. There are many languages and cultures within China and this comes out in the show, which I think is terrific."
Also in attendance was Mr. Esaw, who said his favourite performance was "Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution," "I was really moved by the one that had a spiritual theme. That was impressive. I am sure some of this would be frowned upon in mainland China. I sort of expected a long story between good and evil but they were short vignettes, colourful and beautiful."
Shen Yun Allows Chinese To Reconnect With Their True Heritage
Mr. Hesham, founder of a company that specializes in environmental consulting and software development, attended the show with his family. "Excellent show, excellent, really nice. Good to know about the culture. It's beautiful! I liked it all. I liked the stories and I liked the way it flows."
Mr. Hesham enjoyed the show
He was particularly touched by the opportunity Shen Yun allows its Chinese audience to reconnect with their ancient heritage. "It's good for people to know about their culture so I'm sure the Chinese people would be happy to see [the traditional dance and culture] from their homeland."
Mr. Hesham's wife and daughter also attended the show. His daughter felt Shen Yun taught her about ancient Chinese legends. She was surprised that the story of Mulan in the show was so different than the "Disney" version she had seen. "My favorite part was Mulan, I really liked that one... It is better [than the Disney version] because it's more traditional and it actually has the real legend of Mulan. I thought it was very nice and all the dances and colors were absolutely beautiful," she said.
Advertising Executive: Lovely and Educational
Among the highly appreciative first-time audience members was Vancouver-based ad agency president, Mr. Cribbs. "It's lovely." He said he enjoyed the music and dancing in the show. "Its great. It's new to me. I hadn't seen it before so it's all new," he said. "It's a good education in Chinese culture and Chinese history, so it's lovely that it's put to both music and dance."

Mr. Cribbs found the Shen Yun's unique combination of classical Western and Chinese instruments, "They had such a beautiful sound."
Caterer: "The spiritual element is amazing!"
Ms. Tabbas, owner of a catering company attended the show with her two children and two Korean exchange students. "We're really enjoying it. It's wonderful, and my son's loving it. We've never seen traditional Chinese dance before so it's absolutely amazing. And I love the spiritual element to it, it's wonderful."

She was especially moved by the spirituality of the performances. "I liked the last one they did about the family being persecuted for their religious beliefs. The spiritual element to it, it's amazing!" Ms. Tabbas was referring to a piece that depicts the tale of a father persecuted for practicing Falun Dafa.
She said the spiritual elements in the show "takes you to sort of a different level, takes you away from the black and white of everyday society and to just take a better look at the big picture."
Ms. Tabbas was impressed by everything, "The music's amazing, the orchestra is amazing and the drummers are amazing--it's all beautiful, it's absolutely beautiful!"
