February 27, 2009 |

(Clearwisdom.net) Shen Yun Divine Performing Arts (SYDPA) 2009 World Tour presented the second of four shows at Antwerp's famed venue, The Stadsschouwburg, once again captivating the audience on Tuesday, February 24.

Mr. Van den Hove, director of consulate protocol for the Kingdom of Belgium was visibly moved by the performance. He said, "I need some time, I think one needs some time, to ponder, to see, to find out, to feel the show that one has just seen... Time is needed to let it penetrate."

"This is not only for the eyes, the ears of course, but also the heart, yes!" Mr. Van den Hove continued as he shared his experience and explained how his heart was touched by the show's beauty.

Mr. Van den Hove reflected, "It is the freshness, it is the lightness, it is the grace of the movements, and we are a bit... One just wants to fly away towards new horizons, new skies."

He elaborated, "This show is more than only... In my opinion, is more than dance and more than choreography, there is a message behind it. There probably is something more deep. There probably is something that one can feel in this show that can't be found in other shows, where everything is on stage and no thinking is needed, where there is just the music and the choreography, while in this case, I feel that there is something else."

Pondering further, Mr. Van den Hove added, "It is a message of hope, but I have seen something new, something complete, something that comprises several elements at the same time. This quite feeds the different feelings that we generally have. For beauty, for at the same time, maybe to ponder a little bit on what one has just seen, and the colors, the songs, this is a mix of many things."

"It Was a Dream"

Also in the audience were Mr. Meersschat, a former industrial designer, and retired teacher Ms. Van Hoofsadt. Mr. Meersschat said, "I really appreciated the refinement of the execution, the refinement of the hands and the feet, especially with the feet, I really liked the girls walking out that way."

His wife agreed, "I really liked the delicate feet movements, and all the dancers, they have such a joy on their faces. One could say it was their pleasure to dance for us!"

Ms. Hoofsadt thought all the stories were "Really beautiful... all the Chinese stories. That was really beautiful! I liked it. It was a dream... One could understand the stories that were performed, and the music and the dance were also telling the story!"

The couple both said they enjoyed the finale, "Knowing the True Picture Offers Ultimate Hope," where the cosmic and earthly merge in a powerful vision of renewal.

Family Returns for a Second Year

One family of four came to see the second evening's presentation of SYDPA in Antwerp. Company owner Mr. Verstraeten, and his wife Ms. Divenyi, a former professional dancer, now artist, were joined by their son Patrick who is a corporate lawyer, and their niece Caroline.

His mother, Ms. Divenyi, also said she enjoyed the show, "Very, very much! This is the second time we came. We saw it last year, and we are very interested in Chinese culture."

Mr. Verstraeten, who came to see the show last year, said he once again thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. "Especially the two stringed violin! [Erhu] I liked it. It is very special," he said referring to the performance entitled "Hope."
