I am the mother of a Falun Gong practitioner. My daughter has been detained for six months. I call out her name in my dreams and awaken in tears again and again.

My daughter, Jiao Xuemei, was employed at the Tangshan Heat Power Company. She has been intelligent since childhood and was an excellent student. When she went to work, she worked hard and got along well along with her colleagues.

My daughter got white patches on her skin in 1998, plus she had rhinitis. They caused her a lot of pain. Therapy had no effect. The torture of her diseases drove my daughter to despair.

At this time, someone introduced Falun Gong to her. She started to practice in March 1999. She became a cultivator and lived according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. At the same time, the longstanding diseases disappeared without her even noticing. My daughter became healthy in body and mind.

Meanwhile the persecution of Falun Gong started. On July 30, 2001, my daughter put posters up saying, "Falun Dafa Is Good" and was later arrested. She was detained in Tangshan No.1 Detention Center. From August 2001 to September 2002 her salary was withheld. In 2003 during the SARS epidemic, her company threatened her to try to force her to give up cultivation by saying her family members would be fired from their jobs. She refused to cooperate with this unreasonable demand. She said often, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is my pursuit in life; Falun Dafa is my life."

On May 28, 2004, Jiao Xuemei was distributing materials when security personnel picked her up and detained her in the police station. At night she was sent to her company. Xuemei went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. The Party secretary of the company, Wang Cunzong; the manager of the Western company, Kang Yuheng; and Party secretary Jin Hongge cooperated with the police and attempted to deprive her of her job and send her to a detention center. From June 2004 to September 2005 Jiao Xuemei was deprived of her job and salary, and thus she lost her basic income. In September 2005 she went back to work and found that her salary had been decreased by one grade. In 2006 all employees' salaries were raised by one grade, but the company canceled her promotion without giving a reason.

During the afternoon of April 30, 2007, officers Guo Minghua from Xishandao Police Station and others went to my daughter's house and tricked her child into opening the door, even though Xuemei was not home at the time. Guo Minghua barged into the house and searched it, grabbing my daughter's computer and other personal property. They arrested Jiao Xuemei on May 2 during working hours and took her to the Tangshan No.1 Detention Center.

On June 16, 2008, on the eve of the Olympic Games, officers from Xishandao Police Station again detained Jiao Xuemei and took her to the Tangshan No.1 Detention Center. The Lubei Court put her on trial on September 19 and sentenced her without evidence of any wrongdoing.

From 1999 to 2009, my daughter, Jiao Xuemei, was arrested and detained four times. During the past 10 years, she has been persecuted again and again. Our family has suffered great loss financially and has suffered tremendous mental pressure.

I worry about my daughter every minute, hoping she will come back to me. I sincerely hope that good people like her will not have to endure such tribulations anymore. I appeal to all kindhearted people to oppose this persecution of good cultivators, and do what you can to help.
