(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China contains persecution accounts which took place in 45 cities and counties in 13 provinces. In this report, 52 practitioners were subjected to brutal mistreatment during their detention and at least 54 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Yuli Arrested, His Home Searched, and His Wife Threatened
Mr. Zhang Yuli, 57 years old, is a practitioner from Pangjia Village, Shuangyang Town, Hanting District, Weifang City. At about 11 p.m. on July 29, 2008, officers from the Shuangyang Town Police Station and the Hanting District team that specializes in persecuting Falun Gong arrested him, searched his home twice, and seized a printer, a computer, Dafa materials, and books. They also threatened his wife who was at home, saying that if she failed to turn in all their Dafa materials, she would also be arrested.
On August 7, 2008, Ms. Zhang, from Dongying Village, Gaili Town, Hanting District, Weifang City, was arrested by officers from Gaoli Town Police Station when she was "clarifying truth" about Dafa.
2. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Fengying Harassed and Forced to Become Destitute and Homeless
On the afternoon of August 4, 2008, Ms. Yang Fengying from Fanbali Village, Zaoyuan Township, Lixi County, was harassed by officers from Lixi County Police Department and the Zaoyuan Township 610 Office, who broke into her home. She escaped but is now destitute and homeless.
3. [Liaoning Province] Ms. Sheng Lianying Restrained on a Stretching Bed for Ten Days in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
4. [Shanghai City] Ms. Chenghua Arrested
Around August 3, 2008, Ms. Xu Chenghua, in her 70s, from Caohejing Community, Xuhui District, was arrested under the pretext of safeguarding the Olympic Games.
5. [Yongqing County, Hebei Province] Several Practitioners Arrested and Their Homes Searched
At about 4 a.m. on July 18, 2008, Zhang Haiming (male), of the State Security Division in Yongqing County, plotted to arrest practitioners in three townships. He harassed Mr. Wang Jianshe in Xuguanying Village, Ms. Gao Xiuzhi in Xiyangma Village, Mr. Wang Dong in Dongyangmazhuang Village, and Ms. Tian Chun in Guotaiying Village. Each time, he forced his way into the property by jumping the fence. He arrested Ms. Yan Feng in Dengjiawu Village, Houyi Township, and seized a computer, a fax machine, and a satellite antenna. He seized a computer in Mr. Wu Chunying's home in Houyiben Village while Mr. Wu was out. He also seized Dafa materials from Mr. Zhao Xing's home. Afterwards, he went to a construction site in Wanzhuang Village and arrested Mr. Zhao Xing. He also arrested Mr. Su Guangdong in Longhuzhuang Township and seized truth-clarification CDs and Dafa books.
On July 24, 2008, officers from Yangmazhuang Township Police Station went to Ms. Gao Xiuzhi's home again to harass her family. They detained her son and daughter for a long time and threatened her son in an attempt to find her whereabouts.
On August 2, 2008, Zhang Haipeng went to Mr. Zhang Zhenguang's home in Guotaiying Village again to harass him. Officers from the Langfang City 610 Office and Police Department went to Ms. Gao Xiuzhi's home to harass her.
At about 1 p.m. on August 3, 2008, officers from Sanshengkou Township Police Station went to Ms. Hao Zhifen's home to harass her.
At present, Ms. Yan Feng, Ms. Zhao Xing, and Mr. Su Guangdong are being held in Yongqing County Detention Center.

6. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhu Jialin Arrested and Her Whereabouts Unknown
Ms. Zhu Jialin, a retired teacher from the library of Sichuan Province University, was arrested on August 1, 2008. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
7. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Three Family Members of Mr. Li Xinyi, From the Fertilizer Plant in Yun County, Arrested and Their Home Searched
8. [Hebi City, Henan Province] Mr. Wang Bin Sentenced to Forced Labor
Mr. Wang Bin had been held in a detention center in the Guancheng District since he went missing the night of July 8, 2008, in Zhengzhou City. Fifteen days later he was transferred to Baimiao Forced Labor Camp and subjected to abuse. He was later sentenced to forced labor for one year.
9. [ Shandong Province] Ms. Xia Zhenlan Harassed by Police Officers from the Changyi City 610 Office and Beimeng Police Station
At about 10 a.m. on July 9, 2008, police officers from the Changyi City 610 Office and Beimeng Police Station searched Ms. Xia Zhenlan's home in Xitun Village and seized Dafa books, Teacher Li's photos, truth-clarification materials and a copy of the "Nine Commentaries on Communist Party." Police tried to arrest her and have her sign her name on some paper, but she was able to escape while the officers got entangled with her husband.
At dusk on July 28, the police officers wandered around her home and attempted to harass her further.
10. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Baoxia, Arrested on July 18, 2008, Taken to No. 2 Detention Center in Zhengzhou City
11. [Anqiu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wu Na Harassed
At about 6:30 a.m. on July 9, 2008, five police officers from the Anqiu City Security Team and Jingzhi Town Police Station, led by Luan Guangxu (male), searched Ms. Wu Na's home and took the pregnant Ms. Wu to Jingzhi Town Police Station for interrogation. They also detained her for several hours.
At about 5:30 a.m. on July 9, 2008, police officers searched Ms. Li Yinglian's home, seized Dafa books, and took her to Jingzhi Town Police Station. Afterwards, even though no legal procedures were followed, she was taken to Anqiu City Detention Center, where she has been subjected to ongoing abuse.
On the same day, Ms. Liu Xiumei, from Lu Village, Jingzhi Town, was also arrested. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

12. [Yancheng, Jiangsu Province] Current Situation of Abused Practitioners in Yancheng
In 2007, 18 practitioners from Yancheng City were detained. Eleven are still being held: Mr. Strict Ning, Mr. Luo Ping, Ms. Li Chengqin, Ms. Zhang Shuying, Ms. Zhu Jianmei, Ms. Chen Lin, Ms. Hao Zhengfen, Ms. Geng Cuixia, Ms. Wang Ruilian, Mr. Zhu Chenghua, and Ms. Wang Cuiying.
Mr. Wang Jianping and Ms. Liu Lihua were sentenced to forced labor. Mr. Sun Zhengrong was abused for distributing truth-clarification materials. After he was released, he had a relapse of a previous disease and passed away. Ms. Lu Aie, Mr. Zheng Haixiang, and Ms. Ying Xiuzhen were released after being abused.
13. [Ningjin County, Shandong Province] Abuse Practitioners Have Suffered Since July 2008
On July 14, 2008, Ms. Lu Lianying was reported to the police and arrested when she was explaining the truth about Falun Dafa. She was put in Ningjin County Detention Center and released at the end of July 2008 after being fined 20,000 yuan. During this time, two other practitioners were arrested and then released after being fined.
On August 4, 2008, police officers from the State Security Division broke into the home of Ms. Lu Xianzhi, in her 70s. They misled her into going to Ningjin County Detention Center, where they detained her. In addition, many other practitioners' families have been harassed.

Ms. Su Yupingn her 30s, used to work in the Postal Bureau in Gaoyao City. In 2004, she was dismissed after refusing to give up her belief in Falun Dafa.

16. [Pingliang City, Gansu Province] Mr. Xue Yumin Persecuted
In May 2008, Mr. Xue Yumin and another practitioner went to the countryside to clear up misconceptions about Falun Dafa and were reported to the police. He was taken to the office of the State Security Division and brutally interrogated. After he was released, he continued to be harassed. His home was searched, and officers seized two copies of Zhuan Falun, two other Falun Dafa books, Teacher Li's photos, and three MP3 players.
17. [Beijing] Ms. Li Deping and Ms. Sun Huilan from Chaoyang District Transferred to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
18. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Li Gendi Arrested and Her Home Searched
On July 3, 2008, Ms. Li Gendi from Nanchang City was arrested by officers from the local police station. Her home was searched, and Dafa books and truth-clarification materials were seized.
19. [Xingxiang City, Henan Province] Mr. Cui Kejian Arrested
At about 9 a.m. on August 7, 2008, officers from Xinxiang City Police Department arrested Mr. Cui Kejian, searched his home, and seized a satellite antenna, a computer, a printer, and some printing materials. Mr. Cui was first taken to Zhongtong Police Station. At 3 a.m. on August 8, 2008, he was transferred to Xinxiang City Detention Center.

20. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Peng Yamei Arrested
On the afternoon of July 29, 2008, police officers from the State Security Division arrested Ms. Peng Yamei where she works at Youyi Agricultural Bank. Her home was searched and she was taken to Hongxinglong Detention Center.
On the afternoon of July 30, 2008, police officers from the State Security Division monitored and tracked practitioner Mr. Xu, using Olympic Games security as a pretext. At about 4 a.m. on July 31, 2008, they broke into his home and attempted to arrest him, but without success. At present, Mr. Xu has been forced to be homeless.
21. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Mr. Li Yuena Arrested on August 3, 2008; Her Current Whereabouts Unknown
22. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhang Dongmei Put Under Surveillance
Ms. Zhang Dongmei is retired from the Hengyang Railroad Bureau, Chenzhou Section. She was arrested at home last year and sentenced to forced labor for one year. She was put under surveillance soon after she was released.
24. [Jilin Province] Many Practitioners in the Tonghua Area Arrested
On August 6, 2008, Ms. Tao Suqin, Ms. Yin Xiufen, and Ms. Hao Xia from Dawan Township, Meihekou City, were arrested by local police. On August 7, 2008, Ms. Li Lianrong and Ms. Li Suyan from Shancheng Town were also arrested.
25. [Dazhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Mingzhen Arrested
Ms. Liu Mingzhen from Nanwai Town, Dazhou City, was arrested at home while she was cooking on July 21 or 22, 2008. She is being detained in Dazhu County.
26. [Tai'an City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Jinshan and Ms. Zhang Liangui Arrested
On the morning of August 6, 2008, Mr. Zhang Jinshan was arrested at his workplace by plainclothes officers from Manzhuang Town Police Station. His home was searched, and his computer was seized. On the same day, Ms. Zhang Liangui was also arrested by officers from Manzhuang Town Police Station. At present, they are both in Taian City Detention Center.
26. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Ma Lijie and Mr. Mi Yuan Arrested
At about 7 p.m. on August 7, 2008, officers from Mancheng County Police Department arrested Ms. Ma Lijie at her home and searched the premises.
On the afternoon of August 7, 2008, Ms. Mi Yuan was also arrested at home by police officers from the same department.
27. [Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Qin Arrested
At the beginning of June 2008, when Ms. Xu Qin was on her way to the office of the State Security Division in Songyuan City in order to try to secure the release fellow practitioner Mr. Xu Peng, she was arrested.
28. [Yongji County, Jilin Province] Chinese Communist Party Continues to Arrest Practitioners
On August 6, 2008, Mr. Wang Jichun was arrested again at home by officers from the State Security Division in Yongji County and Chengnan Police Station. Ms. Wang Jiru was also arrested. Her home was searched, and Falun Dafa books and cash were seized. On August 7, 2008, she was released.

Ms. Hao Yaqin from Songyuan City was sentenced to one-and-a-half years of forced labor, and Ms. Hao Yafen was sentenced to one year. They are being detained in Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City.
32. [Tianjin City] Ms. Shi Yuping Brought to Court and Sentenced Secretly
Wuqing District Court convened a session to put Ms. Shi Yuping and Ms. Huang Zunjing on trial secretly. Ms. Shi was sentenced to three-and-a-half years of imprisonment and taken to the No. 1 Detention Center in Tianjin City. Ms. Huang was sentenced to five years and taken to Tianjin City Jail.
It is reported that Mr. Zhang Ruishan and Mr. Zhao Fei were also sentenced covertly.

Ms. Yang Shuqin, 43 years old, was arrested at home on August 6, 2008. She is being detained in the No. 1 Detention Center in Qiqihar City.

After Ms. Chen Yanyu was arrested, she was sentenced to two years of forced labor. Her term was extended. On July 31, 2008, she was directly transferred from Masanjia Forced Labor to Luotaisanzhuang Brainwashing Center in Fushun City.
40.[Zunhua City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Xiaoying Taken to a Brainwashing Center
Ms. Zhao Xiaoying is from Gaohuzhuang Village, Dongjiuzhai Town, Zunhua City. When she was working on August 6, 2008, she was forcibly taken to a brainwashing center by police officers from Dongjiuzhai Town Police Station.

On August 7, 2008, Ms. Jiang Yafen was arrested for explaining the truth about Falun Dafa in public. Afterwards, officers searched her home and seized Dafa books, her bank deposit books, and the ownership certificate of her property. She is now in Beian City Detention Center.

On August 3, 2008, Mr. Dong Xiang from Hekanzi Township was found with a copy of Zhuan Falun in his bag at Lingyuna City Railway Station. He was subsequently arrested and detained in Lingyuan City Detention Center.
46.[Haicheng City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhou Jikai Arrested
On the morning of August 3, 2008, officers from Haicheng City Police Department broke into Mr. Zhou Jikai's home in Shiqiao Village, Ganwang Town. They seized Dafa books and took Mr. Zhou to Haicheng City Detention Center. His family has not been allowed to see him.

At about 3 p.m. on August 6, 2008, Ms. Wang Shumei and Ms. Qu were arrested and their homes were searched. Their satellite antennas were seized.
48. [Heishan County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Huang Yuzhu Arrested
At about 8 p.m. on August 6, 2008, Ms. Huang Yuzhu, from Heishan County, was reported to the police when she was distributing information explaining the facts about Falun Dafa. Consequently, she was arrested and is detained in Heishan County Detention Center.

49. [Shanghai City] Ms. Meng Fanzhen Arrested
On te night of July 24, 2008, more than ten officers from Jiangqiao Town Police Station and the director searched Ms. Meng Fanzhen's home and seized two Falun Dafa books and Teacher Li's photos. Afterwards, they forcibly took Ms. Meng and her son to the police station.
50. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhao Yuling Arrested
On the morning of August 6, 2008, Ms. Zhao Yuling from Xidayang Village, Hongdao Street, Chengyang District, was arrested at home by officers from Hongdao Street Police Station.
51. [Shandong Province] Ms. Niu Rongtian and Ms. Ren Zhiling Suffer Further Abuse after Their Forced Labor Terms End
At the beginning of 2007, Ms. Niu Rongtian and Ms. Ren Zhiling, both employed by Huaheng Mining Industry Company, were sentenced to forced labor and detained in Shandong Province No. 1 Forced Labor Camp for one-and-a-half years. Their terms ended at the end of July 2008. On July 29, 2008, Ms. Niu could hardly walk due to the abuse she had suffered, and she was extremely weak. Ms. Ren was detained past her term, until August 5, 2008, when she was picked up by her employer's Security Section. She was detained in the office of the Security Section, where they tried to force her to write a "guarantee statement". She refused. She was finally released at 9 p.m. that day.

Last week, 60-year-old Ms. Guo Chengyun from North Island, Yantai City, was reported to the police when she was reading information about Falun Gong near her home. She was arrested and taken to Zhifu District Legal System School (actually a brainwashing center).

On the morning of July 30, 2008, 61-year-old Ms. Lu Keqin and 63-year-old Ms. Liu Xiulian
went to Tianpingdian Township to explain the facts about Falun Gong. They were arrested by officers from Tianpingdian Township Police Station who searched their homes. They are being held in Shengzhuang Detention Center.
55. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Cui Tianqin Arrested
At about 5 p.m. on August 6, 2008, Ms. Cui Tianqin from Chengyang Town, Ju County, was arrested by four police officers. They searched her home and seized Teacher's photos, Dafa books, her computer, and VCD player.

On August 5, 2008, Ms. Liu Chunxiang was arrested by four or five police officers when she was distributing information that explained the truth about Falun Gong in Yangjia Market. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Liu is more than 60 years old now. Her husband had been sentenced to forced labor.
